I purchased this car adapter charger because I needed it to charge my son's DSi in the back seat. I read the description in the specs and even went to the company's website. In both in says the cord is 56" long. Great! So when I received it in the mail and opened it up, I was surprised when the cord was only 40"! I looked on the front of the packaging and it even said it was 56" long. I contacted amazon who sent me another charger. This one was also 40"! I then contacted the manufacturer, CTA. They told me to email them because that is how they handle their responses. After a day, they responded by saying their website did say 40".....they corrected it right away and made it seem like an error in my part. I told them I still had the packaging for both chargers and they both say 56". They then said they were sorry and then suggested I purchase an additional extension to make their cord longer. They finally admitted it was an error in their part, but did not offer to send me the extension free of charge for the double inconvenience.

In short....if you don't need a cord to reach the back seat of your car, then this is the cord for you. If you need the length, shop elsewhere.

The part that goes in the cigarette lighter broke after a short while after being dropped from waist high. The ring around the tip snapped off and I'm unable to get it to snap back on, so the 2 plastic pieces don't fit. It's in the trash now and I'm looking for a more expensive and hopefully more durable product.
