OtterBox users beware! "The Cable" does NOT deliver as advertised. See this link: [...]

The male end does NOT connect to my iPhone 3G while the iPhone is inside the OtterBox case. The base of the cable on its male end is too wide and is obstructed by the OtterBox such that you cannot make the connection.

Works great!

No problems with this cable, whatsoever, even when using various skins and cases on the iPhone.

I purchased this to hook the iPhone up to my powered speaker dock when placing the iPhone in a cradle/stand to watch videos and movies in Landscape mode (there's only 1 speaker dock that I know of that allows you to place it in Landscape mode, and it is a mono speaker with a clock).

The cable works so well that I just purchased another for use with another speaker dock out in the garage.

Although it has juice in the name I haven't been able to drink it. I did find an alternative use for it, it works great as a charger for my iPhone when it has a case on.

I needed a short extension that would allow me to connect my Griffin AutoPilot for iPod to my ProClip iPhone mount by running the cable under my dashboard. This worked perfectly.

My iPhone 3G charges and the audio plays.

Four stars because it was a tad expensive, probably because they're difficult to find.

Does the job of extending the distance between the cradle and the iPhone/iPod.

If you have a dock for iPod it will not charge your iPhone (this is Apple's Fault). This cable will NOT help you there. Its just an extension cable. ;)

I don't know if it's the cord's fault, or the stereo's (my guess is that it's the stereo's fault)... but most of the time when I plugged my iPhone 3GS into it, I got the warning that 'the accessory isn't compatible with the phone, so charging is disabled'. I finally abandoned the cord, and extended out of my stereo with a USB cable and RCA jacks, so my phone will charge while its iPod function is playing.

Not sure why it is so expensive? Think about it, the price represents almost one third of the cost of the iPod itself.

I bought this knowing that it would not fit my otterbox defender case. After a little bit of filing it works fine the defender case.

I have been looking for an extension cable for years. In my current quest to find functional iPod Touch 3G accessories, I spotted this. From tip to tip, this is just over 35 inches and the cable itself is just over 32 inches. This cable carries audio line-out, USB (5v) charging, and FireWire (12v) charging, and the "advanced" functions of my dock (play,pause,skip,etc) work as well. I didn't test anything else.

For those with a newer iPod or iPhone, this cable does not fix any charging or line-out problems that your current accessory might have. But, it doesn't create any problems either.

My only reason for 4 stars is that it's fairly expensive for what it is, which is just an extension cord. At the time of my order, the only other extension cord was unavailable for some reason.

I bought this to use in my car with my Griffin RoadTrip because I wanted to mount my phone in a more sturdy fixture, but I didn't want to buy another FM transmitter. This product works great... my iPhone 3GS charges and transmits sound flawlessly. The cable itself seems to be good quality as well. The length is also just right for this particular application since it can probably reach most windshield mounts without leaving much slack.

My only complaint is the price. I understand it is a very small market with high demand, but $25 is pretty expensive.

One more thing: for anyone that has a Speck CandyShell case, this cable will fit without a problem.
