I have been taking care of cars for over 40 years and this is my favorite wax. It is not as much work to apply as you might expect from a paste wax, and it is forgiving of being allowed to get very dry before buffing. It shines well and lasts a long time.

It is NOT, however, a polish. If you have oxidized paint, this will make it look worse, because it just improves your view of the cloudy oxidized surface. If your paint is oxidized, you need to use clay to polish off the oxidation before applying this wax.

I have used a great many waxes over the years and I have a shelf full of them. All of these waxes were super-hyped and many of them are very good. Some cost $40-50 a jar or can. Are they better than 3M's product. Nope.

Properly used 3M's 39526 Perfect-It Show Car Paste Wax (PISCPW) is an excellent product that goes on easy and comes off easy. It is as good or better than any other paste wax I've used and it's considerably cheaper than many. Comments from many users of this product are generally very satisfied with its durability and the wet look really is great.

Those who complain that the wax is difficult to buff probably put it on too thick and this is typical of hand applications. Other products are also difficult to remove if they are put on too thickly as buffing cloths load up quickly and have to be replaced more frequently with a clean cloth. It's also important to understand a thick coating provides NO ADDITIONAL PROTECTION to the paint and it's a waste of good product. If one wants maximal protection, additional coats of wax can be applied because PISCPW does not have any abrasives so it can be layered. Apply a coat, wait a 2-3 hours and then do it again.

To make the job as easy as possible, and this is true for all the waxes and sealants I've tried, use an orbital polisher with a good foam pad for as much of the car as possible. This combination is marvelous for applying a uniformly thin layer of wax to the paint. Use a small foam hand applicator pad for the tight locations. Use only light pressure and work the wax until it has almost disappeared. There are some excellent choices out there and I prefer one of the smaller units with a 3-4" polishing surface to maximize the areas the polisher can reach.

This car wax really brought out the shine in my car. It was recommended to me by a couple detailers and I am not disappointed.
Don't use junk wax, buy the best.

Professional wax with great results! Best if a microfiber cloth is used to remove the haze and a polishing cloth to finish!

Typical of 3M products, this one rocks. Goes on easily and buffs off fairly easily. Follow instructions on label and you won't be disappointed. My vehicles are black and this wax leaves them deep and shiny. lasts at least 6 months when washed properly with appropriate car washing soap. Product lasts forever... Enough wax in here to do a fleet of buses. Would HIGHLY recommend this product.

I have tried a lot of waxes and sealants on my 2012, race red, mustang. The red is very deep and bright and is a difficult color to test waxes on, because it will really show any left over product or shading.

I tried the 3M Perfect It Show Car liquid wax and really like the slick finish and shine of the product. It was difficult to remove though, because being a liquid it was not easy to get a consistant coating. It would be too thick in some spots and that would make it difficult to remove. Also, the liquid waxes seem to saturate your applicator in only a short while and then it is very difficult to apply, and control a proper layer of wax. Due to the difficulty in removing the wax cleanly, I would use an easier wax on the vehicle sides and use the 3M on the top surfaces only. Water repelling is excellent by the way.

I tried to find the 3M paste wax in stores, but I had no luck. I finally ordered the paste from Amazon and today I used it. WOW! it is everything the liquid is as far as finish, but MUCH EASIER to apply and remove! It is faster, easier and just as good. Very little to no dust when removing, applies very thin and smoothly, applicator is not saturated and this WILL NOT SPILL if the cap opens in the trunk of the car by accident.

Try it... you'll like it!

Update...

I have since tried another highly touted wax, Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax. The Meguiars had me for a little while and I thought I would put away the 3M wax. However, I noticed that the Meguiars did not bead and shed water as well and it was not quite as easy to remove if it was applied to the whole car before removing. I went back to the 3M and remembered how great this stuff is!

Meguiars and 3M are the same company now, but the 3M wax is superior.

Not nearly as hard to use as some have suggested. Excellent shine, but at first I found it not really distinguishable from other high quality waxes (e.g., Meguiars Gold Class, Eagle One Nanowax). But now I'm quite sure that it is superior to my old "standard of excellence," Meguiars Gold Class. I had an opportunity to wax a small area of my trunk lid with 3M, and it was clearly more reflective than Meguiars. I'm not sure that it is more durable than the competition, but appearance-wise it is better than the ones I've tried. Moreover, I'm getting lots of positive comments about how great the finish looks on my metallic blue '04 GTO.....even from perfect strangers in parking lots.
