I recently ordered this item and was possibly sent the wrong brand. It didn't say 3M or Scotch anywhere on the roll or packaging. The brand was Tartan. I was informed by another person that "Tartan" is a 3M brand but I myself couldn't find any further info about it. So far the tape works but who know's what the future hold's. :)

When it comes to reviewing electrical tape, there are two factors on deciding what to use: whether it works or not and the price. This role of black electrical tape from 3M works as I've used it for small electrical "repairs" as well as other uses, e.g. using it to hold pieces of wood together until I could screw them together, holding up a flyer on a wall at church, etc. The price is a bit more than what you would probably pay (most roles of electrical tape go for about $.80-$1.25). However, it is from 3M which produces quality products. Overall, the product is solid, but selling for a bit more than it should.

The ones I got were not 3M or Scotch. Junk don't waist you money

Wow, 20 words about tape. It sticks. I used it to decorate a cheap frame I bought for about $3.00. Put this tape all over the frame and now the frame is black.

This tape is very very sticky and recommended for anything and everything. This holds together very well and does not stretch at all.

Ordered 2 rolls for use at work, neither roll was 3M brand. Used for about a month now and seems to be holding up ok, but I've seen the real 3M brand hold better. For the money spent, buy the real stuff from another store.

I did not recieve 3M; it may have been made by 3M but it is a completely different product, specifically the quality. I wouldn't have bought it if it had any other name on the lable. Amazon is usually spot on but this was a foul.

Only go with 3M electrical tape if you are doing any electrical work. If you want to hang flyers at church use scotch tape. If you want to hold wood together use wood clmps.
