3M's resin-over-resin industrial sanding belts are made with an open coat to resist loading. Sharp aluminum oxide grains are anchored by heat-resistant bond, assuring maximum belt life while giving aggressive cutting action with a uniform finish. The strong "X"-weight cotton backing is treated to prevent stretching and slipping and gives the belt positive tracking.

I have been sanding Iron Wood decks. The non-3M belts and the home improvement stores do not last very long. Definitely a superior sander belt.
