We tried 5 different types of mats to try and control the spread of cat litter around our carpets. None of them particularly worked well, or they just plain hurt your feet if you had to step on it. I imagine the cats must have felt the same way.

Then we tried these 3M mats and they caught everything. Once dirt gets into that labyrinth of fibers, it's not coming out without a good shaking. They are soft to step on though, and feels much nicer / less-industrial than a plain rubber mat.

This was my second order of one, as we're now going to use it at our front entrance to catch people dirt and water, instead of just cat litter.

My only complaint is the limited colors. "Slate" which is really a pretty light gray, and "walnut" which is brown. I wish there was at least a black.

Not much more you can write about a dirt mat. It will not was your dishes, or make your teeth seem whiter, it probably won't even save your marriage. But it just might save your carpets, and that's good enough for me...

I bought this to use as a litter catching mat for our cat. I am ecstatic at how well it works!!! There is no longer litter on the floor to clean up everyday, the mat catches it ALL.
