Re-use sheet by vacuuming,
This review is from: 3M Scotch Fur Fighter 849RF-8 Hair Remover Refill, 8-Sheet (Tools & Home Improvement)
Re-use a single Fur-Fighter sheet several times by vacuuming off the fur! The strips that hold the sheet to the handle are strong enough that the sheet does not come off even though my central vac suction is pretty strong. I just hold the vacuum tube's opening at an angle and it pulls the fur right off. No mess and less trash. I have 3 small dogs and the product works great to pick up their fur. I was dismayed that the sheet filled up quickly, (although not surprised considering the surface area that needs to be de-furred) so this is a nifty trick to extend the product's use.

I never write reviews, but I just had to on this one! We have a matching couch and lounge chair set in our living room that has gone unused, by humans that is, for quite a while, and had accumulated quite a bit of cat hair. I tried vacuuming it off, with no luck. I went to Walmart to find something that takes pet hair off and found the Scotch Fur Fighter. I'm embarrassed to say, there was SO much cat hair on my furniture so I was so sure that nothing would ever work. After only using 3 of the pads, I successfully removed practically every piece of hair and dust off of a couch, two pillows, a lounge chair, and a large foot stool. If you have an animal that loves nice comfy furniture then you MUST buy one of these!!!

I have struggled with my pug's mink-like hair since my little dear entered my life. This is the first tool I have ever recommended to pick up the hair. Since pug's hairs are so straight and relatively fine, it becomes embedded very quickly. Nothing has been able to pick up the hair from our couch like this product. Absolutely amazing.

We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and are constantly battling pet hair. I have a Dyson and an arsenal of lint-rollers but even those don't perform like this thing does. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a pets.

Wow did I have high hopes for this. We have major hair problems from my cats. They leave globs of hair on my chairs. I've tried every gadget out there including a few home remedies such as rubber gloves etc. I always end up coming back to my good old lint brushes (fabric type first then finish with the sticky type). It's a hassle of course and I hate having to buy all the refills. I had seen this product and hesitated because of it's refills but caved and bought one today because the design looked so unique. I hoped I would find a way to get numerous uses from one sheet.
As soon as I got home I tried it on my black jeans. The thin film of cat fuzz (always present and GROSS I know...) disappeared. Yes I was excited. Couldn't wait to tackle the chairs. Most of my furniture is leather or wood. I have just two that are upholstered and they are the problem. The Fur Lifter worked great for one tiny "swoop". After that it failed miserably. Just moved the hair around (if that). It took 4 sheets to do both chairs and still had to finish with the old sticky type of lint roller. I do my chairs twice a day- that would be around $10 a day just to de-fur my chairs...are you kidding???? Back to my old lint brush. I'm thinking maybe I can use this on my clothes since it seemed to work okay for that but the shape is very awkward so I guess it'll prob wind up on the curb. What a waste :(

Does NOT remove EMBEDDED hair,

This product claims to remove embedded pet hair from upholstry, but it doesn't! It works perhaps slightly better than a lint roller. It only removed the surface hair that was sitting on top of the upholstry, anything that was embedded just stayed stuck in the fabric. I just tried a pet hair removal brush from Evriholder; so far that works much better. I could see the embedded hairs pull out of the upholstry on my couch. So I would definately recommend the Evriholder brush over the Scotch Fur Fighter.

This beats vacuuming and damp paper towels hands down. Wish I had purchased this a long time ago.

I am not a cat lover but find myself stuck with two. Hate the hair all over my furniture! Drives me insane! Vaccuums wouldn't touch it - too embedded in some kinds of upholstery. I was using postal packing tape to pull the hair off office chairs and other furniture. What a pain. Then, found this. Works great! Also, once hair is picked up onto the furfighter, I find I can then use my vaccuum hose to suck the hair off the sheet - then I can use the same sheet over and over. For some reason, the vaccuum will pull the hair off the sheet, (though it wouldn't pull the hair off the upholstery!) but the sheet remains "stuck" to the tool. Saves on going through so many refills.

Not enough bang for the buck,

We have two cats--one short haired, one long haired--so we're always looking for a great item to get hair off our furniture. This isn't it. This did pick up some hair but mostly it just smeared it around. And it only took two swipes for the sheet to become completely covered and needing a new one. You'd spend a fortune just to do one sofa. Not worth it.

Doesn't pick up poodle hair,
By RWM (San Antonio, TX) - See all my reviews

Contrary to popular belief, poodles DO shed a little bit and I had black poodle hair all over my microfiber couch. I bought the fur fighter because I wanted to stop having to use a lint roller on the couch. Unfortunately, the fur fighter only picked up a few hairs. I then went over the area with a Rubber Lint Brush and a lint roller and got all the hair off the couch. I think this product would have worked well if I had a dog with coarser hair.
