5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm!
I have three dogs and this product simply does the trick. Before I purchased this product, I felt like I was always vacuuming my couches. Now that I have this product, it literally takes me about 5-10 minutes to clean three couches. I would highly recommend this product to any pet owner.

3.0 out of 5 stars Furfighters fill up really fast
Furfighters do indeed do what's expected. They pick up lots of pet hair.
However, they fill up very fast, and, need to be changed often.
Glad to see the review that suggested washing, which works fine, and cuts back on the number of refills.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fur Fighter to the rescue !!!, February 15, 2009
This review is from: 3M Scotch FurFighter 849SK-5 Hair Remover Kit, 1-Handle with 5-Sheets (Tools & Home Improvement)
1st of all... If you have hard to get rid of pet hair.....BUY THIS !!!

We have a bulldog, pug and a kitty and believe it or not it is our bully who is the problem. He leaves his stiff white hair stuck in fabric EVERYWHERE..... I have used my vaccuum and lint rollers and get most of it, but not all of it. I searched this product out, bought it and was AMAZED how easy, quickly and thoroughly in picks up EVERY pet hair.

It isn't sticky like pet roller tape. It is a piece of some kind of secret, plastic like fabric and you can move it any which way you like over your furniture or fabric and it just picks up everything...

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Well In This 7 Cat Home, February 25, 2010
This review is from: 3M Scotch FurFighter 849SK-5 Hair Remover Kit, 1-Handle with 5-Sheets (Tools & Home Improvement)
Don't expect this product to get rid of those giant balls of fluff, its meant for a deeper clean after you've removed those. It even says so on the box-removes EMBEDDED pet hair. It is shaped to get into the cracks and crevices better than the Pledge Fabric Sweeper, which I also own. I would recommend a combination of the two-use the Pledge Fabric Sweeper first for the bulk amount of hair and the Fur Fighter second for the deeper clean. But if you're expecting to fight that fur that you've let Fido pile up for awhile, you will be disappointed as that is not the intended use. Using the combo above though, you will receive better results than either product individually.

4.0 out of 5 stars It really does work. Plus a refill loop-hole., March 8, 2011
This review is from: 3M Scotch FurFighter 849SK-5 Hair Remover Kit, 1-Handle with 5-Sheets (Tools & Home Improvement)
We brought our Shepard mix home on Friday, and on Saturday morning we bought this product! It works. Not quite amazing-unbelievable-infomercial works, but it does work very well on a variety of fabric surfaces throughout our home, couches, carpets, on our clothes, and even in the car. (Fleecy fabrics tend to be more stubborn than regular upholstery.)

Minus one star for "refill" system. Scotch would have you pay loads of money in small increments for refill packets, when you really don't need them. I use my dog's own slicker wire brush to clean out the sheets once they are full and won't pick up any more hair. It's such a cinch--I just brush the FurFighter as if I were brushing my dog, and it removes all the hairs and makes the sheet as good as new again. If you were interested in disposing of allergens and dander left on the hair-removing sheet, you could easily wash it with hot soapy water!

All you need is the starter kit and the brush you already own!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT waste your money!!, March 29, 2009

This review is from: 3M Scotch FurFighter 849SK-5 Hair Remover Kit, 1-Handle with 5-Sheets (Tools & Home Improvement)
I hate to contradict other people's glowing reviews of this product, but I found the Scotch Fur Fighter to be a complete waste of money! I own a German Shepherd and 2 very furry cats, all of which shed constantly. My Shepherd's fur in particular gets embedded in my car upholstery whenever I take her anywhere, so I was eager to try out this product as an easier method of getting the hair out. This product did not work at all!!! I made sure to carefully follow the directions on the box, and after multiple attempts at cleaning my car upholstery and some furniture upholstery I gave up. I can't stress enough to people how poorly this product actually works, and I would hate for someone else to waste as much money as I did just to try it out. I am going to try out the new Pledge Fabric Sweeper in hopes of a better fur removal product, but for now I'm just going to stick to what works (sticky rollers and a vacuum).
There is a guy who made a video review of this product on youtube actually showing how this product does not work. I would strongly suggest that anyone think twice before buying this product. I wish someone had warned me ahead of time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Much better than other comparable products., June 1, 2010
This review is from: 3M Scotch FurFighter 849SK-5 Hair Remover Kit, 1-Handle with 5-Sheets (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have one small dog, a puggle. She is a major shedder. I am a clean freak. Sooo...I have tried everything including regular lint rollers, vacuum attachments (and I have a high quality vacuum), the Pledge fur thing (useless). I LOVE this product. I can use the same sheet for 3 days and I use it at least once a day and I use it on two sofa's, one chair and one large dark colored rug. I have textured pillows and it works on those but you do have to go over the textured fabric more than once. I even use it on smooth surfaces sometimes (such as a leather ottoman).
The only thing that I don't like is the cost but you can find coupons for the refills for up to $2.00 off. I am happy to pay the price for something that works.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but..., October 16, 2009
This review is from: 3M Scotch FurFighter 849SK-5 Hair Remover Kit, 1-Handle with 5-Sheets (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've tried many things over the years for animal hair, and this works ok, and you can wash it and re-use it many times. But, frankly, a damp paper towel still works the best. Just wet a paper towel, squeeze it so it's not dripping, bunch it up a little, and using a scraping motion, just wipe it a few times over the chair, couch, etc., and it bunches up the hair so you can just pick it up and throw it away (some is on the paper towel, of course). It really works better, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

I have a Siamese/Himalayan mix and a Domestic Longhair (I think lol). One has light hair, one has dark hair, and I was spending way too much time removing fur off of my furniture and linens. These are perfect. I still vacuum once, maybe twice a week...but these really do get the fur that the vacuum leaves behind and are great for keeping things fur free in between.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not work on all fabrics!, October 18, 2009
This review is from: 3M Scotch FurFighter 849SK-5 Hair Remover Kit, 1-Handle with 5-Sheets (Tools & Home Improvement)
I had high hopes for this product, but sadly, the bottom line is that it failed to deliver. We have a sectional with a textured fabric in which cat hair really gets caught in the fabric, almost within the weave. In the past I have used a combination of the vacuum cleaner's fabric brush and a lint roller (the ones with the sticky sheets); although this combination works decent, not great, it's a fairly labor intensive process. Along comes the Fur Fighter, and I think, "great!" Alas, precisely because the couch fabric is textured, the micro-grippers on the sheets get caught on the fabric itself, and actually seemed to harm the fabric slightly. Furthermore, it did very little to pick up any appreciable amount of cat hair. So, overall the very reason we needed a product like this (textured fabric that traps cat hair) actually gets in the way of the product actually working! To be fair, I did try it on an armchair that has a much smoother fabric and it seemed to work OK, again not great, but the sticky lint rollers work great on that chair anyway. Bottom line is I will be taking advantage of the sticker on the package that says "The BEST guaranteed or your money back". To be returned ASAP.
