Bought this tape hoping it would work on throw rugs on top of carpet.
After being dissapointed with other brands I am more than satisfied with this. It does the job for which it was purchased and that is to prevent throw rugs from moving.

Having used a lot of carpet tape to make a sticky back for everything from labels to machine tools, Scotch made the best carpet tape in the world... a very clean product with uber-strong adhesive. But this 345PQ is just so so. Pretty much like every cut rate brand carpet tape on the market. Don't know if this is a different model number than what I used to use, or if they have reduced the quality to make it cheaper. Regardless, it is not as great as the other reviewers claim, and perhaps Scotch has changed the product. It just is not as adhesive, and my labels can fall off. It seems all manufacturers are trending that way. My guess is they used to manufacture their own product, but now bid it out to 2nd party suppliers. Just a guess, because that is what almost all American companies do now. Trouble is, I don't know where to get uber-sticky carpet tape now. Go ahead and buy a roll of this, and then touch your clean finger to it. If you have to pull and the tape wants to stick to your finger, that is probably decent. If your finger just pops off, it's not all that great.
