This review is from: 3M Micropore 1/2" x 10 yd. White Surgical Tape - Box of 24 rolls (Health and Beauty)
I need this tape to fasten a PD catheter to my body and this tape works great. It holds well but doesn't rip my skin off to remove and 1/2" is the perfect size. Unfortunately I can't find it locally and my regular medical supplier doesn't carry it.

Great for finger skin splits,

This is a great tape to use if you get split skin on your fingers. You can wash your hands and it will still stick, and yet, the micropores let the skin breathe. It does help the split skin close up and heal, better than butterfly type closures. Plus, it covers the whole split, unlike a butterfly. A regular band-aid won't hold a split closed, but this tape does. It seems to be low reactivity adhesive, as I don't have a problem with it (and I usually react to a number of other adhesives).

This is a terrific price for 3-M paper bandage tape. I use it primarily for taping my TENS unit electrodes to my skin when I'm sleeping. [Otherwise the electrodes could scrunch up during the night.] Of course I also use for the tape for bandages when needed. I couldn't find a similar box/price for a wider tape that I thought I'd prefer, but now I'm glad as I like the thinner tape better. [The less I have to remove tape from my sensitive skin the better.] I've had this box for 9 months and the tape is in perfect condition. I think as long as it's not stored where it's hot and/or humid it should remain in good condition for much, much longer.

This sticks a little better than the other tape I purchased, but too narrow. I sort of knew it would be when I bought it, but thought it would be good in tighter spaces. It's sufficient for the job.

The first aid kit I have only came with a small supply of surgical tape, so I bought this big pack for cheap, I've already used a whole roll. Very sticky, great for keeping those deep cuts that are in between a simple bandaid and sutures. Also works great to wrap a wound. Bear in mind I'm no doctor.

Halloween is just around the next shadowy blood-spattered corner, and I had no costume. The calendar bent me over, "werewolf-style", and I was running out of time to get my witching season freak on. Also, I was *hauntingly* close to broke, and didn't have a lot of scratch to spend on my holiday outfit. So I settled for what I could get, like a vampire in the Ocean Spray aisle.I decided one dead-simple costume would be to dress up as a rugby player. I've got the rugby shirts -- oh believe me, I've got the rugby shirts -- so I figured I'd strap on a pair of athletic shorts and some knee-high socks and be done with it. But when I did it felt -- and looked -- as though something was missing. That's when I remembered what they say about serious rugby players: they tape back their ears, the better for not having them ripped from their blocky heads. So I bought some of this surgical tape to pin the old antennae back, to complete the look. That's when I found out there was more to the story. Apparently, the true rugby jocks tape down anything that might get pulled, tweaked, yanked, tugged or clawed at. 'Anything?', I thought. Yes. ANY. THING. So I bought a couple more rolls and went to work. The tape adhered well, stuck true, and generally helped put me over the edge at looking the rugby part. The only problem came later when I tried to take all that tape off. The ears were the least of my worries. I'd taped down all manner of other delicate fleshy bits, and some of them didn't give up the tape so easily. By the time I'd unstuck myself, I'd sprained a finger, pulled off an eyebrow and accidentally given myself some sort of reverse Brazilian wax Mohawk, right down the middle of the runway. So my chief complaint with the tape right now is that it wasn't liberally coated with Bactine when I applied it. Otherwise, good stuff.

the tape is a little flimsy, but the price is good, so i don't have a problem using a little more to get the added stability. customer service was very good. received the product quickly, and prompt response when I emailed with a question.

Trying to figure out what kind of tape I needed for taping a toe down was crazy. The adhesive on the tape I had gotten at the local drug store was making my toe raw and making the skin break down. So, to Amazon I went. I bought Transpore, Durapore, and Micropore tape. I figure, it's tape I will definitely use it. Not only am I accident prone, my son has inherited that particular trait. Transpore tape is the lovely clear tape that is perforated both horizontally and vertically so it is very easy to tear. My skin has had no reaction to the adhesive and the sticking is power is fairly good, so long as the area is free of moisture and well dried. Durapore tape is the cloth tape that is more silken than your typical athletic tape. Again, my skin has had no reaction to the adhesive. I do tend to find that the sticking power is much better, but you also get the residual gummy tape goo left over more so than the others. Also, while it is fairly easy to tear, it does get cankerous sometimes. Micropore tape is the paper tape. I cannot really give you a review on that, as I haven't used it yet. All of them I got in the 1/2" width. It is a good width for solely using tape on fingers and toes and small places. Or taping bandages down, NOT sealing them.
