I bought these in December, they easily attached to my hard hat and provided better ear protection than the foam plugs provided by my employer.

Pros:
Easy to use
-Comfortable under most circumstances
-great ear/hearing protection
-when secured against the head I hardly noticed that they were there, however when in the "up" position they did throw off the balance of the hard hat

Cons:
-When working in a steam rich environment or when sweating a lot sometimes the earmuff would start to rub against my head and cause a small rash
-after about 6 months of almost daily use the right earmuff would not clamp down hard enough to provide hearing protection. It was better than nothing, but it was not effective enough to be comfortable in factory conditions.

Working in a dirty environment, these are much cleaner and more comfortable than shoving foam ear plugs in your ears every day. These guys clip firmly into my hard had and provide excellent noise reduction. When working in extremely high noise environments, you could couple these with ear plugs for an additional level of protection. They are very comfortable when in place. The only reason i am not giving these 5 stars is because they are heavy, and they do seem to throw off the weight balance of your hard hat just a bit when they are moved up on the hard hat when not in use. When they are in use, their weight is not very noticeable.

No more fidgeting with ear plugs! This set of Peltor earmuffs is easy to use, comfortable, and makes your work easier and safer. It takes less than 30 seconds to attach them to your helmet or hard hat and you're off to work. They simply click in and then are adjusted to fit snugly around the ears. Move one or both up onto the helmet when not in use. They cling tight to the helmet so even when climbing throughout the trees or whatever your use, they will not be in the way or come loose. While they do increase the overall weight of your helmet setup, they are light enough and the addition is welcomed in light of the benefit they provide.

I just received these and I immediately put them on my hard hat. They fit perfectly. They did come with an additional piece that allows them to fit a few others (I guess that are not standard) They fit my head well and I look forward to seeing how much sound they block.

These were the highest sound deadening hard hat attaching earmuffs that I could find without having to spend well into the hundreds of dollars. They work very well, and while they do add some weight to the hard hat, it isn't overly bad. I went my first day with them on in the stored position for all eight hours and didn't notice they were there. My small complaint is I have a very big head and when I'm on my hands and knees sometimes they'll pop out of their "on" position, it just requires a click back into place, but when the jack hammer is running it's a rude awaking.

Other than that one complaint they are great, and 3M even has a sanitary kit for them so you can pull them apart and replace the ear piece foam. Well worth the price!

I purchased this set to apply to my helmet, and used them to string trim and cut grass. I use Apple ear buds under the ear cups to play my favorite tunes.

I found the ear cups kept out unwanted noise "very well". TOTALLY SATISFIED

Very effective when required for high dB plant situations, easy to remove from hardhat when not required and only ear plugs needed (putting earmuffs in reclined position at back of the hardhat feels awkward to me - only takes a moment to fully remove).
