These labels are sturdy, yet are more flexible, and can reposition on paper and other surfaces.
They are marked "laser", yet they work very well with inkjet printers as well.
The flexibility of these labels leads to less jamming than other labels! When you print a LOT of address or other labels, this is incredibly important - especially with mailing lists for organizations where a jam could mean a lot of time in finding where the jam occurred, which labels didn't get printed and then finding this in your program and restarting it from where it left off.
Nicer labels than others I've used!
Great for schools, organizations, businesses and others who need to user labels for mailing, medicines, kid's items, supplies, and so on... Also great for getting organized or labeling things around the house for the little ones to learn to read.
I have tested them with an HP LaserJet 4+ printer, which was perfect, as I expected. I tested printing from an HP OfficeJet Pro K5400 and it also looked great -- very crisp and sharp, even at size 6 font, despite the fact that these are laser labels. I couldn't even tell the difference between inkjet and laser. With a ballpoint pen it was fine and rollerball pen was crisp and clean.
I stuck one on an envelope and it is a very strong stick. If you make an error and want to peel if off, you are going to rip the envelope. On plastic, attempting to peel if off resulting in ripping the label apart. These are very strong! It was a little less destructive on cardboard, but stuck well.
Correct me in the comments if I'm wrong, but I've noticed that Avery seems to try to sell super large quantities (3000) of 5160 laser labels at decent per page prices, but many people don't need that many! At only 750 in this pack, these are a great alternative!
Overall, these labels are great; you can get them to stick to almost anything you might need to mail and you can print/write on them using whatever you have available.
Note: You need to be careful when you stick the label on something as it will really want to stay stuck, so it is not easy to reposition the label. The material you stick the label on will likely be damaged when you remove the label unless the surface is more substantial than paper.
I have used a couple of times for their actual purpose as address labels and they are super easy to load and print. No formatting, just select your font, type and print!!! Very convenient and they look professional compared to a hand written label. They are easy to peel and work with any word document or you can go online and get the free template!
Worth the investment!!
That's not a huge distraction, but I didn't really like being prompted to register just to grab a quick template.
Speaking of templates, they conveniently list the Avery template number on the cover, which is nice if you've already got templates in use and are just looking for the cheapest set of labels you can find.
The labels themselves, very straightforward. The downloaded template was lined up perfectly with the printer. I can fit five lines using the default font on the template giving me about 26 characters across on each line. The default is to center the text top to bottom, but is changeable.
They weren't super-bright, but they are bright labels. I liked that about them having just gotten other labels that were closer to off-white. I feel like these labels stand out on a package or envelope.
The only draw-back is the template doesn't have shaded grey lines for viewing purposes to tell you where the breaks are. I started to type a 6th line and noticed that the text was all but dropped off. Not a big deal, but I like having those little lines showing me where the text is going to end. Since that's fixable, I don't consider it a ding on the manufacturer.
They are advertised as being super sticky and after working with them for a little while, I would agree.Read more ›
