5.0 out of 5 stars comfy mouse pad with style
Very comfortable. Good size for most mice; could use a slightly longer surface. I'd really give it 4.5 stars for this reason. Surface works well for roller ball and optical mice. "Sticks" to your desk like it's supposed to. Looks like real black leather.

There is a matching keyboard wrist rest that goes with it that I also recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Previously good product, now lousy
I purchased one of these about 5 years ago, and it was great. The surface worked well for both the optical and ball style mice, and the wrist rest was comfortable to use. The bottom of the pad was tapered down, and with the surface friction of the rubber on the bottom of the pad, it stayed neatly in place wherever I placed it. Unfortunately, after much use, it was time...

I just received the mouse pad today and so far it's very comfortable. I hope that it saves the battery in my wireless mouse. If not I'll just buy a laser mouse that hooks up to the computer. But anyway, I really like the pad. It's firm enough to not sink and soft enough to feel very comfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best, February 26, 2008

This has been paired with my 5btn Microsoft Optical Intellimouse for the last 7 years and is an absolute dream. The gel pad supports my wrist perfectly, and due to the leatherette texturing it's very comfortable. I've had to replace it only once due to accidentally puncturing the gel wristrest; I'll definitely be replacing it with the exact same model again when the time comes. This is unquestionably the best mousepad I've ever owned.

It just works, comfortable and a great addition to a keyboard wrist rest, also from 3M.

1.0 out of 5 stars Previously good product, now lousy, May 6, 2011
This review is from: 3M Precise Mousing Surface with Gel Wrist Rest (MW311LE) (Electronics)
Unfortunately, after much use, it was time to replace it. I purchased what I thought was the same model, however the significant lack of quality in the more recent production is painfully apparent. The pad still has a similar surface which should be good for staying in place, except that the shape of the base is such that when it rests on a desk, the edges of the entire pad area except for the rest curl up 1/8 to 1/4 inch off the desk surface, leaving room for papers, and dust to collect underneath, and warping the mousing surface such that I have to consciously press down on the mouse in order for it to keep in contact with the surface when nearing the edge. If I forget, and let go of my mouse when it's near the edge of the pad, the mouse coasts back toward the center of the pad, (which is shaped more like a bowl than a flat surface), causing my cursor to annoyingly drift away from where I'd positioned it. The gel pad is notably smaller than the previous product, and is less like a gel rest, and more like an old tire, as it has very little give, and is not nearly as comfortable to rest on as before. Overall, I'd say that 3M failed with their latest iteration of this product, and would not encourage anyone to purchase it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice high-quality mousepad, but VERY firm, January 11, 2009

This review is from: 3M Precise Mousing Surface with Gel Wrist Rest (MW311LE) (Electronics)
I recently replaced all of my mousepads. I got one of these in black, as a replacement for the previous model 3M Precise Mousing Surface with 3M Gel Wrist Rest Blue Water Design 8.71 in x 9.21 in. This one is a little more professional looking, but the biggest difference is the wrist-rest portion is VERY firm with minimal give. Based on other reviews, I think many people would find it uncomfortable, though I find it acceptable.

The mousing area is the same size as before, with a good control surface and no notable friction or noise.

I also got a couple of these Belkins: Belkin F8E262-BLK WaveRest Gel Mouse Pad (Black) They are a similar idea to this 3M, but less cost and with a more contoured and slightly softer wrist-rest. This 3M has a larger mousing area than those Belkins, but if size isn't the priority, you'll be just as happy with the cheaper Belkin.

Other than the relatively high price and the firm wrist-rest, this is a great mousepad.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Uncomfortable!, November 20, 2008
This review is from: 3M Precise Mousing Surface with Gel Wrist Rest (MW311LE) (Electronics)
I received this mouse pad today and while using it, the pain in my wrist got worse and since the wrist pad is covered with leather, my wrist started to sweat and my experience with this product was awful. I will be returning this mouse pad. I would not recommend it to anyone that has wrist problems.3M Gel-Filled Wrist Rest With Integrated Mousing Surface, Black

I purchase this mouse pad specifically for the wrist rest. Pad surface excellant. Wrist rest eliminated 99% of the stress on my fingers (index primarily). No more dull finger pain at the end of the day.

I really like this mouse pad. The mouse I use with it is stationary, a roller ball mouse. So my wrist sits lightly on the gel wrist rest while I mouse. Because of chronic shoulder pain in both shoulders, sometimes I mouse left-handed and sometimes right-handed. It works great. Really good value.
