These clip-ons are very convenient for glasses-wearing gas welders, blacksmiths, etc. Similar to regular clip-on sunglasses but with much heavier, more durable lens. The clips themselves appear to be the standard, somewhat flimsy construction but have otherwise I've had no issues with them and they have so far held up fine under daily use. Would definitely buy again.

Welding in a coal or propane forge is hard on the eyes with the bright yellow light at welding temperature. You want to pull the metal out when the flux if bubbling, but by that time you can barely see what you are doing as you have been almost blinded. These lens worked fantastically. I was able see the bubbling flux without difficulty and never felt any eye strain.

Not a lot to say. They're clip on glasses. We purchased them for soft glass beadmaking. They work like a charm, and are a whole lot less expensive than purchasing a dedicated pair of glasses. Mount them to a decent pair of safety glasses and get good flame reduction and a safe set of peepers.

I have been using these for blacksmithing, and metal casting. I have also used them when monitoring a pottery kiln firing. There is not a precise definitive recommendation on what is needed to protect your eyes but Shade 3 seems to be the most often recommended protection level. I have looked at OSHA recommendations and also "on line" chat discussions.

I wear glasses and it was more difficult to find something that works with glasses. I first tried a pair of shade 3 glasses that are worn like regular glasses but sized to fit over your prescription glasses. However, having two pairs of glasses resting on top of my ears and nose got uncomfortable. The clip on and flip up ones are perfect. They are comfortable. Also it is convenient to flip them up occasionally but not have to take them off when I have stepped away from the fire. Further the Shade 3 is not so dark that I have to flip them up to walk around. I normally work outside but can go in to my work bench, grab a tool, and go back out while leaving the shades down. Only if the light is dim do I feel that the shades are giving me some trouble seeing. If you have good natural light or a well lit interior work space you will be fine. Also I am able to judge metal temperature while wearing these. A few times I experimented by taking them off and seeing if my judgement of the metal temperature changed without them and it didn't.

Comfortable and convenient when you don't need lots of protection. It's not as dark as standard gas-welding goggles, but seems to be adequate at least for occasional heating and cutting. I like using it much more than awkward goggles. If I need more protection from debris, I'll put a clear face shield on over it. I'm very happy that I got this.

These work great over my didymium glasses when I melt boro glass in my lampworking studio. They fit right over my other glasses and supply the filters I need for the hotter boro glass. Thanks!
