If you are looking for a respirator that is actually comfortable on your face, this is it. I bought this primarily for woodworking, but after using it I have discovered the awesomeness that is activated charcoal. I now use this thing for painting, spraying and finishing my projects. I seriously think you could dip your head in a can of paint and you wouldn't be able to smell anything through those bad boys (I wouldn't recommend trying that though...). Did I mention comfort? Because this respirator can be worn a long time comfortably. The downdraft feature of the exhaust is really nice as well. For woodworking it prevents me from blowing dust all over the place every time I exhale. If you've been wearing dust masks for projects do your lungs and your brain a favor and buy this.

This mask is very comfortable, and makes an excellent seal without having to make the straps too tight. It uses 3M's standard filters that also fit the 6000 series. I used it when cleaning metal with xylene, and I couldn't even detect the odor. When I finished and then removed the mask, even the residual odor on my clothes was incredible! I could not have done the job without it. I should have bought one years ago....

For over 20 years I used a respirator manufactured by 3M when I was handling grain. It was a sad day when this old reliable finally gave out on me. Because I had such good luck with that one I came to Amazon and found this respirator made by 3M. While I can say the respirator itself works well the straps that hold it in place, excuse me, the straps that are supposed to hold it in place are incredibly inferior. The first problem is the "harness" that pops into place on the front of the respirator itself will absolutely not stay in place, every time I pick the respirator up, or pull it out of my pickup, I have to find all the pieces and reassemble the thing. The second problem is the cheap little tab things that are supposed to provide adjustment, what happened to the good old buckle adjustments? I wish I could find one like my old one, or else find the parts to fix it!

I am very happy with the mask. There could be better instructions for use but it is comfortable to wear and does not fog up my glasses. I used it while routing wood which creates a lot of dust and still had full use of my glasses because of the tight fit. Even with the tight fit it is comfortable. I also used it while cleaning my shower stall with a bleach spray and did not get an odor of the bleach. I ventilated the room to be safe.

I bought these with the intention of only using them when painting the exterior of my house as they are marketed as a "Paint Spray Respirator". Having said that I ended up using them when sanding, drywall/ drywall sanding, demo work (both interior and exterior), and just all around cleaning of the work area. All particles (drywall, sawdust, etc.) were captured in the filters!! While working I even noted where I could not smell what I was working on - they filter out that much of the surrounding air. They are comfortable to boot as well. Huge amounts of adjustability and the silicone face piece contoured to my face perfectly!

The mask is comfortable. With proper adjustment, it creates a good seal ensuring all air goes through the filter before your lungs. It is much easier to put on and take off than my previous half-face mask (AOSafety). The reason is that this 3M mask has a clip on the lower strap (on neck) that you can open and not have to pull the whole thing over your head to remove. Simple but very useful detail!
I like that the mask directs exhaust downward. I anticipate that it will reduce fogging when I am using a face shield over it.
Also, there is a useful filter brochure on the 3M website. Fun fact: P100 filters are recommended for moldy environments. The filters that come with this are P95 + organic vapor protection. Good for many applications, just not all.
I give this mask 5 stars, because my issue is not with the product, but is probably a merchant issue. So let me include this WARNING (which I also added to seller profile):
I bought my mask from "One Stop Shop supplies" which was shipped by Amazon and received filters that were 3 months past the USE BY date. While these are probably not useless, the activated charcoal used to filter the organic vapors may be less effective than when new. A risk I am unwilling to take. So, please check your USE BY date on the filter to make sure you got what you expected.

This is a comfortable respirator that is easy to put on, inexpensive, and works superbly. I live near the coast and must spray fungicides regularly. There is no smell whatsoever that gets into the respirator, so you are not breathing the toxins. I can still play my I touch while using it and would unequivocally recommend it.

I used a 6000 series mask for a long time, (the one you can find in most places that sell any sort of painting supplies) The major drawback was comfort, the bridge of my nose would sometimes bruise from the mask. the 7500 series mask solves that problem. the mask seals very well because of the softer, more flexible contact surface. it is very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I don’t have to weigh out how long i will be in a less than desirable environment, I just put the mask on. If this mask were available when i bought my older 6000, I would have spent extra for this one hands down.
