This is the best tape I've found for holding down rugs. The smaller rugs (in doorways) stay down really well. I can even vacuum over them without pulling them up. I need to put more on the room size rug to keep it in place.

This carpet tape is the worst I've ever used. I used it on a hall runner...the tape did not hold the carpet in place at all. I kept having to reposition the carpet every other day because it had moved from its original location. I do not recommend.

The product was returned because the label stated that the tape could possibly make marks and/or remove the finish from a hardwood floor. That information was not given in the Amazon description.

I don't use this for carpet tape. I use it to create a sticky backing on everything under the sun. In that application, it is the best on the market. I just wish it was available in the more economical 36 yard size from Amazon. There are complaints about it here, but I don't know of any other carpet tape that works this well. Perhaps in those applications, carpet tape just was not the answer, and more expensive installation methods would have to be utilized.
