In my case I needed to remove automotive pin stripping that degraded. Anyways found the DIY info on a forum. I was begining to laugh how easy this tool did the job. Just be sure to follow the relatively simple instructions. And use a electric drill with 2000 rpm. Job was completed in 20 minutes.

I tried several types of stripe removal systems from chemical to heat guns. Utilizing a 110 v drill and the strip removal wheel I finished the job in record time. The job was a 5th wheel RV trailer.A job of this size requires two wheels. The wheels did a great job.

Works great but watch the speed on your drill, can scar fiberglass finish if too fast.

I acquired a plumbing van /box truck that had 7 year old lettering on both the painted body and the fiberglass box. Using light pressure and low speed with my corded Milwaukee drill, the lettering and the sticky glue flew off of the truck. I was very impressed. There was a little gooey smear mess with each letter, not too much... A little WD40 and a plastic razor.... BAM you can not even tell there were any decals on the truck. Did not burn the paint! Use it at low speeds.. the faster you go the more the lettering and glue smears... It was worth the money and the wheel did last pretty long, however had to buy a second one, but again, I had a large project with lots of decals and lettering to remove.

I have used this tool several times to remove decals and stripes from police cars. I can't even imagine trying to strip the cars without this tool- it's literally worth every penny.

Surprisingly, the eraser surface doesn't seem to wear away as quickly as one would think. I've stripped two cars- both with lots of decals- and it still has plenty of material left.

I use rubbing compound and a good wax with a machine buffer after removing the adhesive and you can't tell the cars were ever marked vehicles, even looking from an angle in intense sunlight.

Highly recommended!

This little wheel is basically nothing but a big rubber eraser. It works surprisingly well for what it is and removes tape style pinstripes with no problem. Make sure you check prior to ordering to confirm that you have the tape style pinstripes as some factory pinstripes are underneath the clearcoat. My truck appearantly had both. This is definitely the option to go as it is a much quicker process than risking taking a razorblade and heat to it. It works via friction and the heat that the rubber generates.. Clearcoat safe I took it full speed on my drill and didn't leave a single mark. Although, it is a little messy as you will most likely wind up covered in rubber shavings. A little pricey though for what it is. Overall, a great find.

I bought this wheel to remove automotive tape left over on a fender from which the molding had fallen off.. I had tried GOO Gone, alcohol pads, and a heat gun, but nothing work. I found information about this wheel on a blog, so I figure I give it a try. It works great, I was done in about 5 minutes, compare to the hours I had spent with the other methods. The wheel material will not scratch or remove the paint. Like they say..... you need the right tool for the job.

I like this product because it does everything it's supposed to do, but my only qualm is that it sort of smeared the vinyl that I was removing a lot more than this other one did: B00488DDB8

The only reason I went with this one as my second wheel (they do have a limited life span, so you'll probably need more than one if you're removing stripes off an entire vehicle) is that the picture showed the wheel being used with the outer edge of the wheel completely parallel to the surface of the car, which looked easier to use than the one by AES, which instructs to basically use the corner edge of the wheel.

In the end, both products worked, but because of the smearing, which meant I had to go back over the area again, I'd go with the AES if I had to buy another one.

Hope this helps!
