Did you know orange cones are made in Indiana? Not the cheap ones you get from China - The really good ones that can be used for almost anything. We all know the standard uses of a safety cone, how about the non-standard uses? These make great impromptu megaphones. And if you have a tennis ball - try using one as a bat and playing "cone ball". Door stops, wheel chocks and other great uses for holding things in position when needed - that's how durable these are. It also makes a great vehicle identifier. Place on the roof of your car when you go into the mall - when you come out, you can easily see your car! Never lose your car again!
I've even attached one to a rope and hung it from a tree over the river - it makes a great seat for swinging out and dropping into the cool river below during a hot July. So don't take these cones for granted - see what other use you can find for them!
These feaure a bright orange (as opposed to a burnt orange) color that can easily be seen for long distances. I am combining it with yellow 3" wide warning tape to protect a photographic area from passers by so that equipment is not disturbed by guests who might injure themselves. I also use these in our service trucks as a mandatory parking aid to ensure the driver lookes behind the vehicle before driving away
Another nice feature of the 18" height is that it "fences off" an area when combined with warning tape, and it is easy to pick up and pack away when the job is done. Sometimes these small details can mean alot with regards to liability lawsuits from unstable people.
Once again, 3M makes a superior product in the safety area and should be recognized for their attention to detail (feet), reflectivity, and simplicity of use in their products.
The cones are smaller than the ones you see on the highway, but that's great with me. They appear to be well constructed and the base is heavy enough to keep the cones in place even in a heavy wind.
