Bought this product last year and was thrilled with the long-lasting repellent effect. I'd tried the other brands, but wasn't satisfied. I'd never heard of Ultrathon, but I bought it because 3M makes good stuff and I was desperately searching for something to keep those bugs away. Well, my search is over, because this is a fantastic repellent--no flies, no mosquitoes, no nothing. One application of Ultrathon is sufficient for hours of sweaty yard work in the hot, humid southern summer.

We have used this product for years. We live in northerm Mn and this has been the only thing we found that protects us. We have not been able to find it in any stores this year so I decided to check on line and found that Amazon carried it at the best price.

I bought this b/c it had a great review. so I bought it when I was going to Dominican Republic for a mission trip. I knew there will be a lot of mosquitoes and sand flies. When I was there, I spread it on my arms and legs and I instantly felt some burning sensation. and it had a strong chemical odor. I think it did work in terms of keeping the insects away but with the cost of 33% Deets. So I used 15% Deet containing insect repellent (Off!) and it worked very well. 7.5% Deet didn't work as well. So my recommendation is go with Deet ingredient of around 15% or less. Ultrathon is WAY too harsh for your skin. You don't have to go that strong unless may be you are going to Amazon Jungle or somewhere deep in Africa.

It is really good! I wasn't attacked by mosquitoes or ticks for a long time at all!
