The 3M VC05W VGA cable is (so far) the only cable that I have found that will connect audio and VGA video output form a computer to my 3M MP225 pico-projector. You plug the jack into the computer's audio output. You plug the VGA connector into the VGA connector on your computer. The small flat connector plugs into the projector. (The projector's display is exactly what would be shown on a monitor connected to the VGA output except its resolution will be limited by the resolution of the projector.)

This cable transmits the signals perfectly. However, it is too short for my purposes. I want to use it with a desktop computer. The distance between the moulded plugs of the VGA connector and the connector to the projector is about 35 7/8 inches. By the time you connect to the VGA output on the back of a tower case, you don't enough slack left to place the projector as freely as you can place a typical computer monitor.

The product description states that the length of the cable is 39.8 inches and if there were longer cables available then I'd have to rate this product as 4 or 5 stars since it meets all its promises. However, I haven't found any longer cable for sale by 3M. The product information offers no standard name for the connector that goes to the projector. (It won't fit any other electronic device I have, including digital cameras, cell phone and computers. I think it may be a proprietary type.) Since this is the only cable available, I rate this product as 3 stars because its too short for some purposes. ( If you use a laptop and plan to set the projector close by, it will be satisfactory for you.)

( I think I can solve my own problem with this cable by adding a VGA to VGA extension cable. I wasn't using the audio output anyway.)

The cable is too short & you'd think that for this amount of money ($160!!!) the cheap thugs at 3M wouldn't use extortion tactics for a cable they probably paid 3¢ for. Note: IPhones cost Apple $7 to make using slaves so this cable with a few wires and probably an easily degradable rubber coating at most cost 3M about 3¢.

It's amazing how corporations sell products they know will trap customers into buying a cheap cable that cost 40% MORE than the projector it attaches too! I wonder if its mandatory for 3M executives to be psychopaths? Only sick deviants would coerce $160 out of people for a 3¢ cable.

Hopefully, customers will punish overpricing thugs by putting companies (rackets) like 3M out of business. 3M used to be a good company before greedy sociopaths took over and only think of how much they can swindle out of people.

If the customers don't then an honest company could have these cables made and sell them for less than $5. Sadly, the lazy deadbeats like at 3M want to make a lot of money for doing virtually nothing.

Idiotic people call this capitalism and worship CEOs who make fortunes doing nothing. These same people will savagely attack hard working migrant workers who do more work in an hour than the entire 3M executive team of deadbeats do in a lifetime. Why do people worship deadbeats just because they are able to make a lot of undeserved money? Are all of these people stupid? Apparently so.

Save your money & if you need a projector DON'T buy from 3M. They will rip you off. Take your business to a company that doesn't look at you as a person to be robbed. Return all 3M products and when inept 3M executives fat salaries get lowered to minimum wage (still too much for these parasites) they might wake up and realize they shouldn't treat others the way they do. But any executive or company that would charge $160 for a too short cable will never do what's right. They will continue to try to shake down loyal customers like the sociopaths they are.

3M should stick to making tape. Better still, all 3M executives should have their mouths taped shut until they become honest people. To do that they will need a lot of tape because any executive who charges $160 for a short cable will never become honest. Btw, don't buy 3M tape either. Why reward deadbeats and freeloaders? Get tape at a dollar store and it's sure to be better than what this company sells.

The product works with an iPad with the cable provided. I need it to work with a laptop and as the device is no longer being made the cable is no longer being made. Go figure. Unless I find a suitable cable very soon, the device will be returned.

Next to impossible to find, once I found it was really expensive, and when I got it, it's very short so you have to be next to the computer I'm going to have to rig something with another extension

I have connected my smart phone using a VGA to HDMI adapter. I connected my video cammera with a VGA to S-Video adapter; although you need to a M-to-M connector. So far I have not found any problerms connecting any device to my 3M MP225a Mobile Projector.

I haven't bought this yet, going to look elsewhere for one that is cheaper. I can't believe the cost of this cable! I bought the 225a 3m mobile projector for $112 (of course today it is $108 less then a week later), and the additional cable is $155? I thought it was a type-0 until I read the reviews:(

Just what we needed. We need this for our projector but I think we can use it for other things as well.
