great stuff!,

this is the same stuff used by the human industry. It is stitches for the skin without the use of needles. Be aware it burns when you apply it, but it will hold together most minor wounds less than a 1/2 in deep that otherwise might need a stitch or two. It alsotends to stop bleeding fairly quickly. It is, in short, skin super glue. Be careful, if it gets on areas of the body you didnt intend, it will stick to anything! If bleeding continues or inflammation persists for more than 48hrs seek professional help from a dr or vet.

Vetbond works to seal my splitting thumbs in dry winter air. Vetbond is not as strong or durable as generic gel-thickness non-medical cyano-acrylate (CA) glue. I used gel-type CA before I tried the Vetbond. The Vetbond goes on thinly, perhaps that is why it is more flexible, but the bond doesn't last as long as the gel CA. The long thin Vetbond applicators are convenient - remember to wick out the remainder on some paper if you want to reuse them. There was a slight problem with the Vetbond spout that popped off - it should be better secured to the vial. I don't know if there are special health risks or nasty additives in the gel CA, but Vetbond is based on similar glue components, and my thumbs are in better shape when I use either glue. Of course generic CA is very cheap compared to Vetbond. Also Vetbond dries a lot faster than gel CA. I think either glue works pretty well on hangnails.
In general, I prefer generic gel CA.

I know you're only supposed to use it on animals, but I'm a dork so I used it on myself. They use this stuff on people in Europe. It stung a little bit but it worked great. Make sure there isn't anything like soap or surgical scrub where you're using it. I got a phenominal chemical reaction when the VetBond touched that. Stopped the bleeding right away and held nicely for 3 days. Then I reapplied it. Healed up great.

This works just as well as Dermabond or its competitors on my papercuts and scrapes for much less money. I'm anticipating 20+ such uses per bottle as it doesn't take much to cover the cut. It's obviously better than the superglue I had been using.

For anyone who just so happens to be purchasing this for its intended purpose (closing wounds in animals), it does seem to do the job adequately. My primary complaint is that it's really runny which can make it difficult to apply neatly when closing an incision (which may be less of an issue for people closing non-surgical wounds). Sometimes you end up with a bit of a mound trying to be sure a wound is completely covered, which rats will sometimes pull of en masse. It's also not packaged in a manner to keep the adhesive sterile.
I personally prefer Tissuemend II for wound closure as it is more viscous and packaged in single-use sterile packages. It's also approved for internal use in animals--not that a layperson should ever have a need to use this internally...but a researcher or vet may have the need.

This is an excellent product for protecting and healing the skin cracks one develops on one's fingetipsas a result of overexposure to soap and water or non-soap hand cleaners. Entirely Pets previde EXCELLENT service; the order is sent out immediately and arrives in the next day or two-about 1/2 the time of other service providers in the same zip code. I recommend this this excellent product and this very excellent distibutor. My Thanks to all involved.
