Product Description

While we don't hide our preference for shallow, non-anatomic bars, we understand that some folks don't agree. If you're keen on "ergo" bars, then you will want to give the 3T Ergonova Pro Alloy Handlebar a good look. 3T has lavished the same loving attention to this bar as it has with the more traditionally shaped Rotundo. With the Ergonova Pro Alloy Handlebar, 3T acknowledges that there are many riders out there who have Cervelo Test Team taste but perhaps not the Cervelo Test Team budget. The Pro level offers the ideal balance between top-flight performance and feet-on-ground price. And beyond the price issue, you get the supreme reliability of its AL7075 alloy construction, which keeps the weight reasonable at 326g while offering all the piece of mind that goes hand in hand with alloy bars. The Ergonova Pro shares the same shape and drop characteristics that you'll find in the Team and LTD versions. This means that the top of the bars are egg or tear-drop shaped which is intended to give your hands a flatter, more comfortable surface to hold onto. The designers have also seemed to anticipate some of our objections to "ergo" bars by keeping an eye on the needs of the smaller person. Not only do these bars come in an array of widths ranging from 38 to 44cm (c-c), but the reach is quite moderate at 77mm and the drop is a comfortable 123mm. Whereas a bar like the FSA Wing Pro has a 145mm drop making it very difficult for a rider with small hands to reach the brake levers while in the drops, the 123mm Ergonova drop is much closer to what one would find in a shallow, classic shape bar, giving greater ease of access to the levers and other controls. Available in sizes 38cm-44cm (center-center) in 2cm increments. Compatible with 31. 8mm stems only.

This is on my "B" bike (rain/indoor trainer/P-meter). If you like the flat top and shallow drop of the Ergonova Team (carbon version), this will do the trick. Obviously for 200 bucks more, the carbon is going to be lighter and it's noticeable. But, if you just care about fit and utility, this is a nice piece. No reliability issues, not that I'd expect any from an Alu handlebar.

I have these bars on all 5 of my bikes. I love the shape. No reason to get the carbon team model other than the "prestige" factor.

Comfortable bar. Still deciding between this and the FSA Omega Compact that came standard. Both are comfortable but 3T may have the edge when you finally get it dialed in. Drops are slightly better for me on FSA Omega Compact if shifting, but both are good solid all around easy bars to use. 3T seems a bit more stable (I have 44cm 3T versus 42 mm FSA). The 44cm 3T is perfect replacement for typical 42cm drop bar.

I purchased this and a 3T ARX II Pro Stem. My bike is completely different and much more comfortable now. The tops are basically similar in shape to the long side of an egg. Makes a very comfortable place to place your hands when you get tired of riding in the drops or on the hoods. The drops are 44cm at the ends, but fit more like a 42cm bar. For a person who rarely rides in the drops, I find them to be easily accessible and comfortable.

There is nothing that I dislike about these bars. Glad I bought them.
