TLC Evolves In 3D...It Doesn't Get Any Better!!!,
By
This review is from: 3d (Audio CD)
Three albums later...we bring you 3D!! The long awaited and supposedly (but hopefully not) final album from TLC has to be their best work yet, and also one of the best albums of 2002! TLC returns once more on 3D with an old school meets new school twistage. This is another album that I can put in the player and listen to the entire album without skipping a song. That's one main reason why it deserves five stars in my book. It's rare these days to find an album in which ever song is playable. If you are a fan of TLC or just joining, don't second guess buying this album...you won't be disappointed. The songs are as follows:3D Intro: Kind of reminds me of Fanmail's intro. It explains what 3D means and is a very upbeat song. "I can bring it to you in 3D". Quickie: Left Eye is very involved in this song. It's another upbeat song, one of my favorites. It has a very catchy chorus and will most likely be a single since it was supposed to be the first single from the album. Girl Talk: The first single from the album! It's another upbeat song that is also very catchy. Said to be the new anthem for women of the new millennium. Turntable: This song is dedicated to TLC's fallen sister, Left Eye. Very catchy and uplifting, positive song but also sad at the same time. One of my favorites from the album. "Don't get discouraged, there's always a better day." In Your Arms Tonight: "I just want to have a good time" which pretty much sums up this song. A laid back song made to groove to. The "Creep" song of the album. Over Me: Starts out with a good beat. Another catchy, fast paced song. Has a good dance beat to get yourself moving. Good song overall. Hands Up: First real ballad type song on the album. Not my favorite type of song but has a real message behind it. Basically about lying and cheating men. "It's almost like I didn't know you." Damaged: Picking up the pace on the album again. This song is easy going and the chorus definately has that pop/rock feel to it. Another good song. T-Boz and Chili really shine here. Dirty Dirty: Sounds like a song from Missy Elliot! Very catchy and upbeat. Has that heavy dance beat which make it very enjoyable. Another favorite of mine!! So So Dumb: Calming things back down again...another song about the fails of men. Nothing to out of the ordinary here but a good song on its own. TLC has a feeling for a catchy chorus. Good Love: Another upbeat track from 3D. T-Boz and Chili sing very well together and their voices blend well also. Keeps a steady groove throughout the song. Hey Hey Hey Hey: Another Missy Elliot sounding track which means it's very good. It has a wierd smearing sound throughout which makes it very interesting. Another favorite of mine! Give it to me While It's Hot: Unlike their previous album, they end 3D with an upbeat, well-paced song. A nice addition to the album. Seems to be over all to soon... I'm looking forward to the greatest hits album TLC!!! Lastly, I want to thank TLC for bringing this album to all of the fans. I can't imagine how hard it was for them to finish the album without their sister, Left Eye, who will forever be missed in the music industry. Thanks again TLC for all of the music and memories over the past decade!!

Warning: TLC is Back!,

Watch out, fellas! That sound you hear is the return of TLC, who bounce back with their fourth (and possibly final) album, "3D." It's hard to believe that these ladies have been with us for a decade, during which T-Boz, Chili, and Left Eye rode a violent roller coaster of drama including arson, alcoholism, marriage, motherhood, bankrupcy, and, most recently, the death of Left Eye who was killed in a car crash during the spring of 2002. Not surprisingly, "3D" is a tribute to the spicy member of the group, while other songs take numerous jabs at the fellas as sexually inept, philandering, and slick-talking brothers. We get production from the Rodney Jerkins, Timbaland, and the Neptunes, with longtime collaborators Babyface and Dallas Austin. "Girl Talk," like their previous hit "No Scrubs," is not for the thin-skinned, as the track cruelly pokes fun at guys who lack "the package." It should come as no surprise that this catchy tune is billed as the sequel to "No Scrubs," since the lyrics to both songs are written by Kandi Burruss, r&b's reinging queen of talk-show drama. The surviving members make a touching tribute to Left Eye in "Turntable," and the Neptunes (Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams) hop on for the low-key but still bangin' "In Your Arms Tonight." "Hands Up" is a winning, seductive slow jam about infidelity written by Babyface, who radically changes his sound and production style, here. But "3D"'s most vunerable moment has to be "Damaged," which tells the story of a woman begging her man to be patient with her insecurities and emotional baggage from a previous relationship. At 49 minutes, "3D" is concise and to the point, devoid of filler and unnecessary interludes you'd find in other albums. While it's not exactly a huge step forward from 1999's "Fanmail," this album still bangs and earns a B+ in my school of music. The trio's future may be hanging in the balance, but even if this turns out to be their last album, TLC ended their career on a solid note with this disc.

This year's been a tough one for the massively successful R&B trio TLC. With the tragic death of rapper Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes, the group will never ever be the same again. This album is a tribute, featuring some of the last musical works of Left Eye, and quite possibly the last group effort from the other two as well. The first single, 'Girl Talk', is yet another ladies anthem, stomping any man who doesn't pack enough heat to please his woman. Brazen and bold is the name of the game here. Another spicy cut is the dirty 'Quickie', a possible single, it features the lyric "he came and then he went, right to sleep on me". The song 'Turntable' provides a warm tribute to Left Eye, as it's dedicated to the fallen star. Another deep cut is T-Boz's 'Damaged', a meaningful plea for acceptance and love. Player depreciation is a heavy theme here, along with the previously mentioned 'Girl Talk' and 'Quickie', the girls slam slimy guys on 'Hey Hey Hey Hey', 'So So Dumb', and 'Hands Up'. The track 'So So Dumb' is a brutal kiss-off, the girls playing friend to a woman who's husband is cheating, telling the guy off in song. 'Hands Up' is a slinky club style cut, with Chilli and T-Boz finding a lying guy, he said he couldn't dance and all kinds of other lies, but he's up in the club, grinding with some 'hoochies'. But he's found out, and that's that. The ladies also dip into some hot producers of the moment, pulling a track put together by the Neptunes. 'In Your Arms Tonight' is both signature to the Neptunes sound, yet totally not. It's totally sexy and smoothed out. Then they call on Missy Elliott and Timbaland, on the song 'Dirty Dirty'. This track is hot, very energetic and funky. The beats are wild, and it's definitely made for club floors. Killer track. At the end of the album, Organized Noize provide the last track, a burning track called 'Give It To Me While It's Hot'. Another cool track, it ties up the end of '3D'. This album has one cohesive theme to it - TLC. The three girls, their sound, their work. And it's very good. A great album, and a noteable effort from a group who've had so much drama. I'm digging '3D'.

TLC maybe minus one member, due to tragic circumstances (for those of you who've had their head buried on Mars, that's Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes) but thank god most of this album was recorded before her death, as it would be a miscarriage of justice not to see a fine album like this being released. Ten years after TLC first arrive on the music scene, and it shows they can still carry their powerful voices through the Ashantis' & Alicia Keys'of 2002. The album is a kind of extension of 'FanMail' which experiments in futuristic-retro sounds. This is how the tracks rate: 1.3D:Intro (I can't really rate that for you, but if I did it would be about a 7). 2.Quickie: A fresh-sounding song about a boy who met T-Boz/Left Eye/Chilli (delete most unimaginable) on a summer fling and left her abrubtly. Has a catchy hook, and of course the distinguishing TLC sound. 8/10 3.Girl Talk: As far as this song goes, the lyrics make it kind of like No Scrubs part 2, but the actual song is nothing to scream about. It's probably not an accurate representation of how good the album is. 7/10 4.Turntable: a good strong ballad song, which I presume was written in tribute to Left Eye. It's about how life is unfair now, but one day everything will be different. Considering this song is produced by Rodney Jerkins (see Brandy or Toni Braxton), it's a bit of a different approach for him. 8/10 5.In Your Arms Tonight: Another tried 'N' tested Neptunes production, which is probably less romantic (what it aims to be) and more flat (what it is). It does nothing to extend or fuse their vocals, I'm sure the girls could have done better. 5/10 6.Over Me: Smooth & sexy, back to the typical TLC formula. It's another 'Rodney' production and it's about how a guy has gotta get over the girl, cos she knows she's to good for him. Pretty good. 8.5/10 7.Hands Up: Song of the album or what??? I've always loved TLC slow jams and this one is no exception. The pure classiness of these three ladies comes out on this track, which produces perfect harmony about a guy who gets his game on behind his girl's back. They have to release this, as it is just dynamite! 10/10 8.Damaged: This is an Unpretty-esque song, in a similar vein about a girl who's afraid to fall in love again after being hurt emotionally in a previous relationsip. You have to love this song, as it is typivval TLC, and back to the original (and still the best) old skool style. 9/10 9.Dirty Dirty: As you've probably guessed by the title, this is a Timbaland production, and it's pretty dope, but the lyrics are a bit sparse, as it has no particular focus apart from 'gettin down'. Sit back, enjoy the ride and bounce to the beat (as well as the hollas by Missy Elliot throughout. 7.5/10 10.So So Dumb: Another slow jam about this girl T-Boz/Lef Eye/Chilli is cheating on with her boyfriend, and how she's so beautiful, but yet so foolish not to notice. Pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. 7/10 11.Good Love: Sounds a bit like Waterfalls, but goes tor a totally different vibe. Pretty good song for chilling, driving in the car, or 'gettin' in tha mood'. Nuff-said. 8/10 12.Hey Hey Hey Hey: Another 'get out of my house' kind of song. It sounds like it should have been made for someone else, but T-Boz vocals carry the tune out pretty well, if you like that kind of thing. 7/10 13.Give It To Me While It's Hot:A good song about a boy with bad intentions and a girl who's not ready for what she's about to get, but acts like she is. I like Left Eye's narrative bit in the middle which makes her sound a bit like Eminem lyrically (which isn't a bad thing). 8.5/10 Overall it's another high production album from the trio, but it has a kind air of tradgedy about it, to think it may be their last. It's more futuristic than FanMail, but it still maintains that sassiness and sexuality of any hot TLC production, and I can safely say that even with all the manufacturing and overproduction you don't have to listen to it in a certain way, unlike most albums.

TLC Forever,
By A Customer
This review is from: 3d (Audio CD)
3D implies animation, larger than life and 360-degree penetrable perspective... "utter extraness." On 3D, the fourth album by TLC, surviving members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas have put their best feet forward to give fans the hottest album that they could, given the tragic circumstance of their "sister," Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes', untimely passing. The rapper (30) died driving an SUV that flipped over while vacationing in the Honduras last April."3D INTRO" Dropping interpolated Bombs over Baghdad, the duo welcomes you into their world while Dallas Austin kicks a perky, new wave drum-n-bass opening. "QUICKIE" This one is a crack up, penned by Left Eye and T-Boz with Dallas Austin. Like the corniest college professor you'll ever meet, Left Eye opens the song putting females up on game regarding the Ionetic concept of "Left Pimpin'" (it's located in the region of...your man). From there, the ladies do what they do best...dis the deserving! It's a funky sequel to "No Scrubs" on which the zingers are flying about men with "premature ejaculation" issues. "First he came/And then he went...right to sleep on me/I could not believe/Wake it up and give me what I need!!!" An instructional video for this would be right up MTV's overly horny reality shows alley right about now. "GIRL TALK" This first single is the perfect segue out of "Quickie." All three girls address the men directly this time about keeping their game tight, or feeling the wrath of being talked about to all their girlfriends. Key line: "Some of y'all be killin' me/ Thinkin' you got powers like Austin but you're more like Mini Me/And when you finally get your blood flowin'/It be lookin' like a pinkie with a glove on it." Edmund Clement (also leader of the new group Hustlechild) hooked this one up with the hypnotic rhythm guitar line--an instant TLC classic. "TURNTABLE" This is the "Waterfalls" of the album, a melodic, semi-acoustic ode to living life to the fullest everyday primarily penned by producer Rodney Jerkins with T-Boz and a few others. "We all don't know the answers, believe and trust when I say/That having faith is always the way to make things okay." "IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT" The Neptunes strike again with a moody, strangely sexy, minor key track that has Pharrell Williams all over it. Set the mood for this with a red light... "OVER ME" This club joint marks one of Chilli's biggest writing contributions ever--a collabo with Rodney Jerkins and his crew. This one's about telling a guy that he had his chance, blew it and now has "gotta get over me." "Gave my world, I can't understand it/Now I'm gone and you can't handle it." Oh, my.... "HANDS UP" Babyface and Darryl Simmons weave a web of ghetto intrigue on this tale that plays out like "Creep: The Dark Side." T-Boz discovers her man cheating on her in such a way that it's almost as if she's seeing a completely different man. This is some of the most soulful singing to come from both T-Boz and Chilli...pretty lowdown by their standards. I was waiting for Nate Dogg to tip in for a line or two. Go 'Face! "DAMAGED" This is a smash and one of the project's most pleasant surprises. It's a soft rocker with live bass, drums and guitar that kicks up a nice cloud of audio gold dust. Top 40 radio will love its great chorus, melody and power chords. The ladies will really work up a sweat performing this (produced by Dallas Austin who penned it with T-Boz). "DIRTY" Timbaland and Missy bring the unbridled ATLien TLC party track. And, of course, Missy helps her sistas out with some rhymes. A moment of silence toward the end is provided out of respect to Left Eye, who would have loved (and freaked) this high-energy joint. (note: T-Boz & Chilli return Missy & Tim's favor by guesting on "Can You Hear Me" from Missy's Under Construction album, in-stores the same day as 3D). "SO SO DUMB" Producer Raphael Saadiq makes keenly insightful use of the different timbres of T-Boz and Chilli's voices, shifting them back and forth over the chorus, all the while mixing in live strings, church organ and a mellow electric piano track. Not so mellow is T-Boz singing to a man here about the stupidity of cheating on a woman who so purely and blindly loves him. It's another of Saadiq's "gospeldelic" message tunes (penned with T-Boz). "GOOD LOVE" Edmund Clement's second contribution is a softer, sweeter piece that he co-wrote with former Xscape member Kandi Burrus. This is a cool, feel-good, album track--Saturday in the sunshine music featuring Chilli (is this for Usher?) and T-Boz. "HEY HEY HEY" This is a mid-tempo, high-tech kiss-off joint from Rodney Jerkins, with the same synth sounds and voice manipulators that he poured all over Brandy's Full Moon album. T-Boz and Kandi Burrus lyricized this one. "GIVE IT TO ME WHILE IT'S HOT" Organized Noize sends the album off into the sunset with some sexy Southern steam. "I scratch your neck and my eyes roll back for you/Oh, baby/I'm burnin' up/It's time to turn it up/Get in the middle and stir it up/Give it to me while it's hot." Left-Eye is featured in a mid-song rap that smacks of "get in where you don't quite fit in..." Her rhyme takes the theme of the song...left. "As you can see/ There's two different dreams/Her thoughts are so pure/His as low as the floor..." In all, 3D is no CrazySexyCool, but neck and neck with Fan Mail--a smorgasbord of vibrations that will provide several radio smashes and satisfy their devoted fan base. TLC is forever.

Best Wishes For TLC,
By
This review is from: 3d (Audio CD)
TLC, the most successful female group of all time, is back and they've done it again. With the strength of the surviving members TLC presents 3D. Their newest cd made for the fans. It's TLC at their best with what's probably their second best cd ever made only shadowed in comparison by CrazySexyCool. For the past ten years T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli have blessed us all with their music, their talent, letting us see into their personal lives and letting us into their hearts. Now that Lisa has passed, although it feels like we've all lost a sister, I think I speak for all the fans when I say thank you to T-Boz and Chilli for keeping the music alive and allowing Left Eye to live in our hearts forever. We love you TLC!1. 3D - A great intro into the world of 3D. It's fun and funky and TLC at their best. Gotta love the intros. 5/5 2. Quickie - This song is alot like the songs on their first cd. It's silly, upbeat and alot of fun. I think the title of the song gives you an idea of what it's about. 5/5 3. Girl Talk - This is the first single from the album that's being played all over MTV and radios everywhere. People seem to like it alot and I do too, but the more you listen to it, it just sounds alot like stuff they've done before. 4/5 4. Turntable - This is one of my favorite tracks on the cd. One listen to the chorus and it's over with. This song is a definite winner. I hope it's the next single, because it really shows where the group is at in their lives now. It's upbeat, positive and has a great inspirational message for everyone. It's alot along the lines of one of their most popular songs, Unpretty. 5/5 5. In Your Arms Tonight - This is one of the weaker tracks on the album. It's produced by The Neptunes who's sound is growing more tired and annoying by the minute. Even if it doesn't sound like alot of their past work, it's still annoying and doesn't feel right on this cd. It stops the flow the cd has going and by the time you get to it, you'll immediately wanna skip it. 2.1/2 /5 6. Over Me - My favorite song on the cd! This is a great dance song that picks up the pace the previous song began to slow down. It's about the girls telling the scrubs in their lives that they lost their chance so they're moving on and the scrubs just need to get over them. Awesome song. I'm totally feelin this vibe and I hope they make this a single. Left Eye raps about burning down her man's house for the first time. 5/5 7. Hands Up - This is a song about finding your man cheating on you at a club when he said he was gonna be elsewhere. Great song, but not my fave. 3.1/2 /5 8. Damaged - A great song about getting the courage to move on from a relationship that burned you in the past and allowing yourself to love and trust again. 4/5 9. Dirty Dirty - This is my second favorite song on the cd. Chilli really lets loose on this track and has more fun here than she has on any previous albums since Oooohhh On The TLC Tip. Its funky and futuristic and a song that will make you get up and get dirty. Not to be confused with Dirrty of course. 5/5 10. So So Dumb - A slow jam that's kinda sad about letting yourself get hurt and trusting the wrong person. Very good song. 4/5 11. Good Love - Ok, the cd is slowing down and mellowing out and it's just not my kinda thing. I'll be fair. 3/5 12. Hey Hey Hey Hey - Picks back up the tempo a bit. Another good song! Not my fave, but still prettly crazysexycool. 3/5 13. Give It To Me While It's Hot - This song is kind of misleading. Its mid tempo and makes you think it's gonna speed up and get really hot, but then towards the end it makes you think that maybe it's gonna slow down and there'll be an outro dedicated to Lisa, but then the cd just ends. Kinda disappointing. 2/5 All in all an almost perfect cd that every true TLC fan will be all over. Obviously made with the fans in mind, this cd is VERY satisfying. Another job well done for TLC! My best wishes go out to them.

T-Boz, Left-Eye, and Chili became instant legends in 1995 after their ridiculously successful sophomore album 'CrazySexyCool' left audiences in a daze with cuts like "Creep", "Waterfalls" and "Red Light Special". They even won MTV's "Viewer's Choice" award at the 1995 VMAs. TLC was (and still is) the biggest selling female trio of all time. This was *after* Left-Eye's arson incident, and the fact that more often than not, sophomore albums aren't nearly as successful as their predecessors. TLC defeated the odds back then, and by releasing '3D' after the tumultuos 'Fanmail' campaign and the untimely passing of Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes (R.I.P.) in 2002, TLC has defeated the odds once again. The '3D' listening experience is a sad one; the only song that seems to address the profound emotion surrounding the circumstances involved with the making of this album is "Turntable", an amazingly sincere midtempo that may very well become the album's second single. But I'll try to quickly summarize the album in the following: We begin with an intro that leads us into the ultra-happy, title track; it has techno, big-beat, and bounce influences (think: "B.O.B" by Outkast). Next up is "Quickie", a mischevious jaunt that is classic TLC. Then we're off into "Girl Talk" which is definitely not the best song on the album, but it sounds great blasting in your car, or at a nightclub. "Turntable" is amazing; I love this song. "In Your Arms Tonight" is a *stunning* Neptunes joint (will they ever quit?) that brings out the steamy sexiness of T-Boz and Chili in much the same way that "Red Light Special" did. I really have to give it to the Neptunes and Pharrell Williams (whose vibe & vocals are oozing all over the song); "In Your Arms Tonight" is easily the best R&B song on this album, and should definitely be a single. "Over Me" is a decent and playful uptempo, "Hands Up" is a slinky tale about a slimy guy, but "Damaged" is one of the most refreshingly heartfelt TLC songs ever. With a grunge-girl appeal (not unlike "Unpretty") "Damaged" will probably be the biggest single from this album, and deservedly so; bravo to TLC for breaking new ground in 'urban' music with this one! "Dirty Dirty" is a Missy Elliot/Timbaland collaboration that is my pick for best fast song on the album; if you liked "Work It" or "Get Your Freak On", you should be able to get with "Dirty Dirty". "So So Dumb" is a depressing midtempo about a guy who makes all the wrong choices in love by cheating on his wife, etc. "Good Love" is the happiest song on the album; it has an optimistic, euro-pop vibe not unlike by S- Club-7 or Eternal... "Hey Hey Hey Hey" is a generic Rodney Jerkins-beat fest (Brandy's 'Full Moon' album) that gets the job done, and is a grower -- but it simply can't compete with the stronger tracks like "In Your Arms Tonight" and "Damaged". We end the album with "Give It To Me While It's Hot" which is a lyrically intriguing, yet ultimately unceremonious end to the '3D' experience. In summary, the '3D' album is spotty -- with "Damaged", "In Your Arms Tonight", "Turntable" and "Good Love" being the best songs. Sadly, none of the songs I mentioned contain the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. In my review of 'Fanmail' a few years back, I was certain it would be TLC's final album; while '3D' did prove me wrong, I still had a profound feeling back then that things would never be the same for the group after that album...and sadly, they aren't.

Classic Material,
By
This review is from: 3d (Audio CD)
If your looking for another mega blockbuster hit from the best selling female group of all time, don't look here. This album did not have the same formula their past 3 albums have included. The past 3 had themes which Left Eye was responsible for. TLC have said many times that they are a unit, w/o one their is no TLC. 3D was a great way to wrap the end of a great era and pay homage to a very talented young woman. While it has nothing on the monsterous multi platinum CrazySexyCool, or the previous hit FANMAIL, (due to its lack of a central direction) it is an excellent collection of TLC material. I see it kinda of like having all three albums in one. Here's my take on each track.1. 3D - Reminds you of half time at a HBC (historically black college)football game. Seem like it should have been on the soundtrack for drumline. Great opener. One of those songs only TLC can pull off. (FANMAIL) 2. Quickie - Classic TLC. If your a die hard TLC fan, you'll love this song, if not hit the skip button. (Ooooh on the TLC tip, all the way) 3. Girl Talk - No Scrubs Pt. 2. Great dance tune, which allows TLC to do all those great moves their know for. Good choice for a 1st single. Think it would have been more successful chart wise if it had not been for the untimely death of Left Eye. (FANMAIL w/ a litte CrazySexyCool) 4. Turntable - TLC are not really know for their ballads. But this song is a beautiful ode to positivity. The song builds as if one is traveling alongside a rainbow and at the end he finds a pot of gold. This shows TLC's alternative and rock side (a la T-Boz) Dedicated to Left Eye, I think it would make for a breathtaking video. (FANMAIL) 5. In Your Arms Tonight - The hook is very very catchy. I think it's missing something. I'm not sure, but it is a great song to ride to. When the Neptunes approached TLC, TLC told the duo that they did not want anything that they have been hearing for the past 2 years on the radio from them. They wanted something fresh. I think the achieved that. (CrazySexyCool) 6. Over Me - Rodney Jerkins is not one of my favorite producers. I think him and Brandy work well together. Despite that, it is a great track that displays all three girls and their very distingusih talents. Left Eye's rap (taken from the song "I Believe In Me" from Supernova) goes with the song perfectly and is the highlight of the song. (CrazySexyCool w/ a pinch of Oooh on the TLC tip) 7. Hands Up - I mean Babyface flip the scrip on us all the way. I couldn't believe this was his contribution to the record. This song is classic TLC material. One of those songs only TLC can rock. It has a very deep dark vibe to it and the girls sound great together. T-boz deep raspy voice blends with Chilli so well in the b-section. This song has a Red Light Special vibe to it (doesn't sound like it, just the same vibe). (CrazySexyCool). 8. Damaged - By far the best song on "3D." This is argubly one of the best pieces of music TLC has ever composed. T-boz and Chilli are at their best vocally on this record. Their voices blend perfectly which results in a timeless classic. This song would have easily been a mega hit if it was released with all three members. As their 3rd single due to a heavy amount of radioplay it got to the ears of quite a few listeners. 9. Dirty Dirty - This has a ill crazy beat to it. Not single worthy, but a very fun song. This song is probably just for a TLC fan, like i said before, if your not one skip it. This was real different sound for Timbaland and Missy, but it works on TLC. (Ooooh On The TLC tip) 10. So So Dumb - Produced by Rapheal Saddiq, this record is hot and very single worthy. It is the second time Saddiq has work with T-boz (1st time "Different Times" a duet on Saddiq's solo album). This song is slick, and very smooth. A masterpiece. Supposeddly T-Boz have been working with Saddiq on some more material possibly making a solo album. (CrazySexyCool) 11. Good Love - Good upbeat song. It's rare where TLC pays homage to love. Fresh sound and fits the girls very well. (CrazySexyCool) 12. Hey Hey Hey Hey - Another RJ production. It has a very techno/hip-hop feel to it. You can Nina pop to it well (st. louis dance, watch the chingy "right thurr" video to see the dance). (FANMAIL) 13. Give it to me while its HOT - Nice mellow sexy vibe. Surprise to hear one of Left Eye's rap in this one but it works. T-boz and Chilli blend well on each verse and it very sensual. (CrazySexyCool) *Get Away - This song is great. It is a Bonus Track on the Japanesse version of "3D." It has a electronic/guitar/keyboard vibe to it and it sounds good on them. T-boz is at her deepest and Chilli just smooths it right on out. Great song, should have been on the album. *Who's It Gonna Be - This was released on the German version of "3D." Another RJ production. It's a weird track but I don't know, TLC's sound is so unique, it actually works and with a few spins you begin to like it. Overall not the best, but it grows on you. Like I said before, this album had no central theme like their past projects. It seem to me to be somewhat of a smorgeshboard of their career. A little of this ablum and a little of this one. Great collection. One of their strenghts is their ability to jump from various sounds and genres and still keep the same audience. This album is good for anyone who like various styles of music and is a course a must have for a DIE HARD TLC fan.

The album 3D blows every other TLC cd out of the water! I love this cd so much, I can never get enough of it. The cd goes from dancey Quickie, Girl Talk, Hip Hop to ballads like Turntable, to an Independence Over Me to Hands Up to a techno Hey Hey Hey Hey, then a slower track like Give It To Me While Its HOT! This cd I waited and waited for the longest time, and it was well worth it.1. 3D-Creative more of a song than an Intro. Like always TLC likes to Introduce themselves, with an opening. 2.Quickie-Love the Intro. You can tell that this track wasn't finished with Lefteye, noting that the intro is Lisas song "Left Pimpin" |
