A cute debut album, January 18, 2010
This review is from: 3lw (Audio CD)
As I was browsing a local CD store, I found, for really cheap,
Neva Get Enuf, 3LW's compilation album. Suddenly memories from a long time ago came to resurface as I ultimately decided to purchase the album. This lead me to rediscover their two albums, and while listening to them (this one espcially) those memories just kept coming back.
Now what we've got here is not the best album since sliced bread, but it is a fun catchy debut album that made 3LW a hit, as far as teen pop music was concerned. Their debut "No More," which opens this album was a big hit, blowing up both radio and TV. The follow up, "Playas Gon Play" wasn't nearly as big, but still got a decent amount of airplay.
The big highlights here, other than lead single "No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)" are the sweet ballad "Curious," and the fun, upbeat "'Til I Say So" which might seem like pointless pop ear candy at first, but both deal with the subject of waiting before having sex. The later features a, well, quite cheesy rap by Kiely, as well as "No More" and "Crush on You." My personal favorite track is "Not This Time" which talks about a cheating man.
So, in short, it was a cute debut for them. Too bad they couldn't stick around longer. (Member Naturi was kicked out in 2002, then things just kept going downhill from there).
