I found this book for my daughter so she had some extra work to do. She gets bored with her class work and therefore needed some extra work. She enjoys this book and it is a bit challenging for her. Her friends have a father that is an engineer and really good with math. He took a look through it as he home schools his kids and was impressed.

I purchased the book for the 3rd grade daughter of a friend on of mine that was having problems with her arithmetic. The teacher looked through and was very impressed. She said that she would start using it in her class. Best of all, her daughter really took to the book and is feeling much more comfortable with her numbers. It is easy to go through and has lots of good practice tests. There are also versions for different grade levels.

This was not what I had hoped it would be. First off, looking back I see it is less than 50 pages. That really isn't a whole lot. It puts the math skill in a fun way but you cannot expect a child to understand and remember the skill after one page. This is really just for fun to review what your child already knows, maybe to use after they have spent some time learning the skill. For just a few more dollars I have seen workbooks that are just as good with over 400 pages.

Good basic workbook that my son enjoys using. But if you are looking for problem solving practice exercises, this isn't for you

I got this for my son who is entering 3rd grade to keep up on his math skills. He has done about 1/2 of the book. It's really great the way the math is done by way of games - he doesn't feel it is work and has had fun with it so far.

I buy these books for my 3 grandchildren. They actually enjoy them! Who knew?? These help the kids with their school work and, if they like using them, it makes the learning even better.

As a fan of the Scholastic workbooks, my son completed this workbook over the summer as well. He's pretty good in math, so this was more to keep him moving forward and up to speed with his class.Sections include: Place Value Addition and subtraction Multiplication and division Fractions Word Problems Test Practice Scholastic keeps it fun and entertaining and my son likes the way they break down the information. We will be getting the fourth grade books next year. |
