My son is going into 3rd grade. This summer he's been working on math, grammar/writing. This is his favorite non-math workbook. The directions are clear and instructive - he doesn't need me to help him understand what he needs to do. The sentence expanding and paragraph building exercises aren't as exhausting for him as those in other writing workbooks.

This was one of the workbooks we got for my son to keep his brain active over the summer. We also like to prep him for the upcoming grade and this book was an excellent resource.

It's split into sections:
Identifying types of sentences
Capitolizing and punctuation
Writing and expanding sentences
Building paragraphs
Proofreading
Getting ready for tests

Even though my son complained when it was time to practice writing, he always feels a sense of accomplishment when he completes a page or two.

It's challenging enough for an 8 year old, but not so hard that he gets discouraged.

My 11 year old has always struggled with school. This book was one of many that I bought and really helped with supplemental teaching from home. Would buy again and recommend.

If there is one thing my daughter needs help on it is writing. This book has seemed to help her. She does not work in it as much as the other workbooks that she has gotten but that is because writing is not one of her favorites. I hope by the time she finishes it, she will enjoy writing.

This is a great workbook to start learning the fundamentals of writing. During the summer I bought this book to help prpare my son for writing in third grade. He enjoyed the workbook.
