peter kienle, the leader on this trio date, has been one of my favorite creative musicians for 15 years sinc ei first met him and heard him.
this is a top notch recording of a trio pushing boundaries of sharply edged sound. kienle is technically very unique.. in some respects his sound is modeled after maclauglin, and Nguyen Le is a contemporary who sounds very much like him... also, modern young bigshot Mike gamble echoes his ideas, phrasing and effects unknowingly ( they are not aware of one another ).. i highly recommend peter kienle as one of the mopst distinctive voices on modern guitars.... a steal at any rate, esp used at 1.81 !!
