As a new viewer to naturo I purchased all three uncut english version sets with the idea of watching them over time. Bad move. I watched the entire three sets in two days. I would have watched them in one day but work got in the way. We all know this is one of the most outstanding Anime series and the question of "in original language" or English dubbed is an interesting one. "The Urge" commented in his review that things where missing and not the same between the two versions. Not having seen the Japanese original language version he could be right; however, the examples he gave about the "sexy-Jutsu" and Sauske/naruto being edited out was untrue. It's all there. The rest, well I don't know. I'm hoping the term "uncut" means it is as close to the original as possible in a language change. That would be true if in subtitles or dubbed. Bottom line is it's a great series in English and if it's better in Japanese so be it. There are a lot of Animes out there and most certainly are not that good. So when one comes along that is terrific, such as Naruto, enjoy it in whatever language you can enjoy the most.
Better Believe It.

As an owner of the previous three volumes, i have come to realize that Naruto keeps getting better as the episodes go on. Think about it, the first volume just showed them struggle as pathetic ninja. The second volume shows them mature a little enough to survive their first mission and the first part of the chunin exam. And now the third volume shows them grow huge bounds as each character grows greatly from the first episode. and it is only going to get better as the four volume features the ten fights of the preliminary round of the third part of the chunin exams. Most of the fights are intriguing, especially the one between rock lee and that wierd ude with the sand thing on his back. This volume looks to be the best yet, and it will only get better. My only wish is that they would release these uncut volumes faster because this show is very addicting.

This is an absolutely wonderful series. You'll love it. Boxed set 4 picks up right where 3 left off. The cases always have great pictures on them, this one's no exception. My favorite is the one on the back that has Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura on it together.

As with the other boxed sets you can watch in Japanese with english subtitles-if you're one of them purists who wants to see it that way-, or you can watch it in english, and you can still have the english subtitles if you want-up to you. I like to put the subtitles on during the opening and closing theme songs so I can see what the words to the songs are-good songs-.

Do not buy this set even though it is still available for purchase used. There is something wrong with the 2nd DVD in this volume and it will not play. I have now attempted to play it on 4 different DVD players and none of them are able to do so. Both Amazon and another large DVD retailer have stopped selling this box set new, apparently due to this problem, though they failed to disclose the reason.

Only the highly competent folks at Warner Bros, who distributes this series in the US, could sell a DVD set that doesn't freaking play. In this day and age, how is that even possible? It's a wonder that Warner's employees are able to tie their own shoes and actually make it into work. Perhaps if they didn't make it into work, things would work better. This bummed out DVD actually might be a tribute to all of the 70 billion bummed out CD's that AOL mailed to every house on the planet back in their glory days. Well, at least the AOL CD's actually PLAYED!

Amazon really should remove this defective product from their product catalog. I consider it in poor taste for Amazon to allow others to continue selling it through the marketplace. I hope Amazon doesn't become like every other 1,000 gorilla and forget their origins and those who gave them the chance to succeed: customers.
