Cutting Granite,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 4-1/2" ELECTRIC MARBLE CUTTER - TILE CUTTER UL Listed - PERFECT DIY TOOL (Misc.)
Although I was sent the wrong tool initially, the company made provisions to pick it up and re-send the correct tool that I had ordered without a shipping cost to me. It did take a while for me to get the correct tool shipped, but communication was excellent. I got quick responses to my e-mails.
I used this tool to cut a 1 inch granite vanity top and it worked relatively Ok. It is NOT a tool to be used to get a nice straight, and flawless cut, since it doesn't have enough power and bogged down while cutting and the blade is not top quality. However, if you just need a rough cut like I did because I was putting back and side splashes, it works Ok. Note that after making about 4 cuts, the blade has lost quite a bit of the diamond chips that enable cutting so it won't last very much longer before it needs replacing. Overall, the tool was Ok if you are looking for a rough cut.

tool supplied is not manufactured to produse a quality tile cut nor is the blade taht is supplied with it. the unit was advertised as a 4 1/2 inch saw and that is the std. size for small tile blades. saw supplied is marked 4 3/8 and there is no room for the 4 1/2 replacement. saw does not reach rated speed and labors through cuts. company did stand behind the request to return product.

Granite cutting saw,

This review is from: 4-1/2" ELECTRIC MARBLE CUTTER - TILE CUTTER UL Listed - PERFECT DIY TOOL (Misc.)
I purchased this saw to cut granite slate for an outdoor kitchen. The saw arrived in good shape, but smelled like it had sat in the bilges of the ship all the way from China. The water hose had a connection to attach it to a faucet, but with a few dollars in parts, it was modified to fit a garden hose. The saw worked as advertised and cut thru a 1" piece of granite with ease. It left a fairly smooth edge, which should be fine if the piece doesn't need polished. If you need a polished edge, you'll need a more expensive diamond polisher (from MK Diamond or the like). The saw would cut the granite without the water, but you would have a lot of dust.
