Chronic Future Rocks!,
By A Customer
This review is from: 4 Elements (Audio CD)
I think that this is a really cool cd. I dont agree with some of the other reviewers that say Chronic Future sounds just like 311. I guess they have somewhat similar styles, but I think that it is nice to hear a new band that is not trying to sound like Korn or Limp Bizkit.

The Scottsdale brats are gonna rock the nation with this one,

About two months ago Ben Collins from Chronic Future messaged me online and asked if I wanted to hear some of his new album. I've been a fan since '97 when they first got local radio airplay here in Phoenix, AZ, so of course I said yes. I ended up downloading the whole album from him, and it's rocked my world. On this CD thier sound has matured, but even more importantly, the trends in music have caught up to where Chronic Future has been musically since thier first CD in 1996. From the sure-fire hit first single Come Correct to the heavy vibes of ? Up and The Majik, to the melodic and infectious Impossible To Win, 4 Elements is quality from start to finish. They effectively mix up thier influences of funk, hip-hop, and most importnatly rock, with the guitars and bass right out in front. The memorable verses, raps, riffs and hooks, along with sing-along choruses on this CD could easily make Chronic Future a household name nationwide by the end of 2000. As I sit here recovering from a stunning live in-store performance to kick off the release of this CD, I'm almost saddened, because I know the days of them tearing it up in the local clubs are very numbered.

OH MAN!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: 4 Elements (Audio CD)
I was never really a fan of Chronic Future until I heard this cd. I had heard bits and pieces of their first cd but never really thought much of it. My friend was playing this in his car one day and I asked who it was, and was shocked when i heard the answer. I guess that you could call them "rap-rock" but I haven't heard any like this before. There are a lot of melodies in the songs along with the raps which for me makes it more tolerable than a lot of the other "rap-rock" bands. If you want to hear a band that takes this style of music to a new level, then I would pick up this cd.

If you like "Lines in My Face", you probably won't like this album much. The style is completely different, it sounds more like a cheap 311 ripoff than anything. As this album was produced several years earlier than LIMF, it is pretty obvious the band was still trying to find its sound at that point.

This album is Decent,
By A Customer
This review is from: 4 Elements (Audio CD)
This album is good, but it lacks originality. The band 311 has been creating music like this for several years now. I do think that this album is much better than their prior album. Some of the lyrics contradict themselves though. This is confusing to me. I think that "come correct" is a made for radio song in that it copies what is currently being aired. Less than half of the songs on this album are decent. The band also did not put on a very good show when I saw them in concert.

Up an Coming,

Chronic Furture, as a band seems to have matured immensely with their album 4 Elements. Singer Mike Busse in particular brings energy and extraordinary vocals to this cd. The lyrics are all positive, not violent and still cool, which is fairly revolutionary in today's musical world. You have to give ups to anyone that can write such excellent words, put it with music that spread good vibes and is also rocking hard core, all at the same time. These boys have done it. I recommend this to anyone who listens to Rage Against the Machine and Limp Bizkit, but urge everyone to give it a try as Chronic Future defines themselves seperately from any other band out there. I am even more excited to see what they come up with in the future. After hearing this album you know these guys are only going up.

Band Promoter Loves CD,

I live in Connecticut and am part of the Chronic Future promotion team. It is my job to hand out stickers to everyone that wants one. I love this band. I think they are awesome. They do sound a lot like 311 but I enjoy that sound. They are really good to rock out too.
