5.0 out of 5 stars what is she singing ?, July 7, 2002
This review is from: 4 My People (Audio CD)
Maybe we could have seen this thing coming, since Basement Jaxx sampled Missy Elliot songs in their live set.

Anyway, on this single, the collaboration kicks...and chemistry is shooting through the air like mad. The vocal radio edit is great, the stuff we hear all the time on the radio and at the parties.

The original radio mix is okay, but it lacks the Basement Jaxx treatment that the first track has.

The third one is a dub by Basement Jaxx. It plays around with Missy her shout outs from the song and is quite nice. The best dub on this single is the last one though.

The fourth track is a longer vocal mix by Basement Jaxx. Really nice, with a long intro that plays with Missy her freaky screams. Really good.

The last one is a very good dub. It's very long - almost nine minutes and gets really heavy on the beats on the end, but it's a great track. It doesn't have much vocals in it, but when they are used, they create a fun atmosphere.

Buy this single - it's fun and nice to dance to.

4.0 out of 5 stars dancefloor missy, November 25, 2002

This review is from: 4 My People (Audio CD)
the basement jaxx treatment of this "missy e... so addictive" track is excellent. missys flow on this song and the jaxx urgent and fluent beats are made for each other. check out the basement jaxx's own stuff ( Rooty and Remedy) and see why missy, whos always been on the experimental tip, got remixed by them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Beats For Club-Heads, December 1, 2002
This review is from: 4 My People (Audio CD)
This hypnotic club hit never hit it big, but it's still a great entrancing beat for those clubbers. Getting only a short music video clip at the end of the "Take Away" video as a memory of Aaliyah, "4 My People" never made it too big, but it's definately worth it to buy it. Eve's rap on the track is also a trip from her normal hardcore lyrics in a hushed club, go-along-with-the-beat type of sound. The sounds make me wanna dance. Hope you're left in awe after hearing "4 My People."
