5.0 out of 5 stars Just read the label
I have a pet peeve regarding most people, and that is their reluctance to read the label or the instructions. This product is absolutely fabulous. I have ordered it in the past, and the price here far exceeds purchasing in the stores, where average price per tube is in excess of $5.00. It is a water-based product, first item of the ingredient being "purified water." It...

3.0 out of 5 stars works, but not as good as regular Astroglide
This gel gets the job done, but it's not as smooth or nice as the regular Astroglide liquid. I'll use this in a pinch, but I prefer the regular for sure.

It far exceeds any pruduct on the market, and if you check Wikipedia, there is an indication that this product is even preferred by Barbara Walters over the use of K-Y Jelly.

The product is a steal at this price. Additionally, it is probably the only product on the market that gives a "natural feel."

My husband and I have been using this product for quite some time. It lasts as long as you need it and rinses off easily.

This is the greatest invention EVER! Highly recommend, for any application where friction can cause chafing.(In an "intimate" setting.)
One warning, it can get messy if you over use it.
You've been warned. ;-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great with toys, June 20, 2010

It's my favorite lube for toys.
It coats well, and has a smooth ride.

Many lubes bead up on the toy and drip all over the place.
Then, hen you insert the toy, there's nothing on it.

With this great gel, no more problems.
You need WAY less than you think you do.
It stretches a long way.

It's weakness is that it dries out quickly when used for masturbation.
Luckily Astroglide makes my favorite liquid lube for that. =)

5.0 out of 5 stars Slippery When Wet, January 20, 2011

With any luck, Astroglide brand is the only personal lubricant I'll ever use. I absolutely love this stuff! It is a gel consistency, which means much thicker than your average lube. Although nowhere in the official literature is it mentioned, both myself and the employees at the store where I purchased it recommend it for anal use (apologies if that's blunt, but this is a review for a sex product). And for this purpose, my partners and I LOVE IT. It makes the activity enjoyable and comfortable for both parties, and it lasts and lasts. After a while it sometimes becomes just a little bit "tacky", but this has never been a dealbreaker for me. Another benefit is that it is water-based, which means two things: first, it washes off easily. Second, a little bit of water (or saliva) actually renews it's slipperiness. It is not edible, but I have gotten it around the oral region on some occasions, and will add that at first it is very chemically in taste but later, after use, becomes very sweet and almost pleasant (once again, however, DO NOT CONSUME). As for the aroma, the tube has a plastic smell, but I have never noticed any odor from the lubricant itself during use. I absolutely recommend this for "backdoor use," and while I cannot vouch for its other applications, in my eyes Astroglide really can't go wrong.

The Gel, like the astroglide lubricant is water-based and safe to use with latex. However the thickness of the Gel provides a longer lasting lubricity and has a cushioning effect which is superior for anal play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Secret Weapon Against Hemorrhoids, January 30, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gel, 4-Ounce Tubes of Astroglide Personal Lubricant (Pack of 6) (Health and Beauty)
A few years ago while I was still using Preparation H, I thought would try Astroglide Gel just one time even though it is not meant for hemorrhoids. Since that one time I have used only Astroglide Gel and nothing else.

I find Astgroglide Gel to be much more slippery, providing superior lubrication. So it is much better at alleviating irritation in that area. Astroglide Gel stays where you put it and usually lasts all day. It stains a little but far less than petroleum based products. It is also less messy and washes off easily.

My hemorrhoids now bother me only in a minor way because the irritation is under control. I wish they would package the gel in one ounce containers to go with individually packaged, portable wipes. I hope this helps others with the same problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dries too fast, July 19, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gel, 4-Ounce Tubes of Astroglide Personal Lubricant (Pack of 6) (Health and Beauty)
Like the title says, it dries too fast and then then needs reapplication. Then, after many layers of reapplication, it starts to rub off like a layer of skin.

I thought it would be more slippery than regular Astroglide due to being thicker, but it isn't - it's worse.

On top of that, opening the cap creates a loud snap, making it difficult to be discreet.

2.0 out of 5 stars I thought they stopped selling KY Jelly, September 6, 2007
By
Bob (Paris, France) - See all my reviews
I saw the 6 pack and thought it was a steal - it's so cheap because it's not water-based, like the stuff they sell in the flip-top bottles. I suppose it is my fault, but still - I now have 6 tubes of gooey lube.
