The hub works fine technically. But the design is problematic. The hub's cord is off to the side of the plug that connects to the computer (vs. straight out from the back of the connector) so it gets in the way of other ports, like the power port and the area where I plug in my laptop lock on my MacBook Pro. I'm returning this and getting a hub where the cord comes out of the back end of the connector so I can actually use other ports at the same time.

For the price it's indispensable. Cheap, compact, and great that when 'closed' there are no loose wires. However, it can be tricky to insert the USB plug into the socket....the cable is barely long enough for this so it can take some patience. But overall a simple, well thought out design.
