Works alright most of the time on windows,

Most of the time it works fine, but not always.1. Since the USB hub is involved, switching does not always move your mouse over to the new system. Especially when switching between linux/windows systems. 2. There is no way to directly choose the input you need, so to get from 3 to 2, you need to "cycle" through all of them. 3. There is no keyboard shortcut to switch inputs, so, unless it it right there on your table (and it takes space with all those cables plugged in, and sticking out in almost all possible directions) -- there is no way to switch. It is fine for those who just use it once or twice a week to check on another machine. Probably not for heavy everyday use with all 4 systems of various types connected. Hence the low price ;-).

I purchased this to share a 1080p monitor, an Ultrathin Logitech keyboard and a Microsoft USB Wheel mouse between my PC (running Windows 7 x64) and my work laptop running XP Professional. When switched to my PC using input PC1, the image on my monitor is wavy when the resolution is set to 1920x1080. The 'waviness' stops if I lower the resolution to 1280x1024 or lower...When I switch over to my laptop on input PC2, it loads the drivers for the mouse but then displays a message stating that new hardware was found but the device may not work properly and the mouse does not work. The 1920x1080 setting does not allow the entire desktop to be displayed at all at once. The screen 'pans' to edges of the desktop when the screen 'reaches' the edge of the monitor. If I lower the resolution to 1280x1024, it 'works' correctly. My 50/50 gamble hoping this would work for me did not pan out. Returning it tomorrow and starting looking for something that will work for me.

USB hub in KVM intermittently works,

Tried this with 2 windows 7 machines and a linux box. The video ports don't allow the machines to detect the monitor model so resolution is horrible on linux. Also I see a lot of ghosting on the monitor, not sure if it is the KVM or poor quality of cables included. Having a lot of connectivity issues with the USB ports between the KVM and each of the machines. Sometimes the machines don't recognize the USB in the KVM and sometimes the USB devices (keyboard and mouse) aren't picked up.

For the PRICE, great KVM. Use it daily, XP and up load at boot at any time. On switch or off. Knew ther are no KB shortcuts prior to buying. 5 Stars!

Not very impressive. The USB ports quit working after 1 day. I wouldn't recommend this and if I could figure out how to get my money back, I would.

This is a cheaply made KVM, keep looking!,

This KVM has loads of issues. First off, I have to boot each system up and make sure the usb mouse and kb drivers are present on the system before ever passing them through this switch. There are tons of problems with switching between pc's. The devices are rarely detected by the machine. All in all this KVM was not well designed and has since been replaced by a much more reliable product. The 'generic usb hub' is not a good solution for a KVM. All systems this was used on were XP Home or higher on OS. I even had a windows 7 machine that wouldn't even see the generic usb hub plugged in.This is a horrible product and I would advise anyone that is serious about a KVM to keep looking. Just goes to show that you get what you pay for.

This is an awesome KVM. 4 Port, just enough for a home network setup. USB and Video are the only hookups to the PC or Server. Have a Wireless USB and Mouse hooked to the KVM, and able to share to all the devices I switch too, even on boot up.

This is a great little KVM. I've had it for about two years now and never had a problem with it. The only downfall is no hot key to switch between pc's but other than that great price and great product.

Only work's partially?,

I tried to get the item to work with my newer computer which acutally ran window's 7 which mean's the item should have worked because it was actually made for window's xp or higher well needless to only works about 50% of the time if you plug in a monitor it only works with certain brand's and if you connect to a usb port it only works with certain "low grade" monitor's....save your money or wait until they release a second or third edition of this item....or atleast start offering coupon's.

The product works well. The only issue I had is the switch button does not switch sequentially. At times it jumps around skipping numbers. So getting to correct PC needs multiple push.
