The Impossibles craft great songs, period. Over the course of 2 albums, an anthology, and a couple of EPs, they've developed a sound that still has roots in basic punk ska but has lately grown more interesting textures and lyrics. And with this latest EP, it looks like they have a solid grip on this unique sound. "Get It + Got It + Good" shows they still have their feet in scream emopunk, but "Long Way From, Long Time Since" proves that they can still write really singable melodies. Keep rockin' y'all.

5.0 out of 5 stars more great hits from the impossibles, November 7, 2001

when i first heard of this cd, i thought it was a rip off...i mean 4 songs?? give me a break. i thought it would be a waste of money. but on that one fateful day i found myself with some spare change and figured i'd buy it. let me say that this was one of the smartest moves i've ever made. i already had anthology and return. i liked anthology for its obvious punkishness. i liked return because of their new sound they had going for them. but i think in just these 4 songs you can really hear how the band has grown and how much more polished they sound. these 4 songs are just about the best they've written yet. to me the weakest song on the ep was get it got it good, which was still good...it's just the other songs are that great. not that i don't like the "emopunk" quality in that song; on the contrary it's spiffy. but after listening to the whole thing, it was the one song that wasn't all that memorable, the one i couldn't remember at all.

anywho, if you're a long time fan of the impossibles or if they've just caught your ear for the first time, i strongly recommend this for everyone and anyone. none of their cds will be leaving my cd player anytime soon.
