"...I'm at my happiest with the lampshade on top of my big head.", March 1, 2008
This review is from: 4-Wheel Vibe (Audio CD)
This is my favorite cd by the greatest band that no one has ever heard of. In fact, I own it on cd AND on vinyl. Bracket are a pop-punk(leaning more towards pop) band from California, and are, for the most part, not very serious. Their lyrics are most often silly and fun("I really don't like the taste/Of all those green apples/They don't seem to go away."), meshing perfectly with their style of music and Marty's high-pitched, nasally vocals. However, that's not to say they can't be serious once in a while. "Warren's Song Prt. 4" tells the sad, pitiful tale of a boy stripped from his youth by vicious rumors, and "Lazy" is about being...well...lazy, and having no ambition left. Even "Trailer Park", one of the most upbeat tracks on the album, is about a dude with an alcoholic father getting made fun of for being poor. Long story short, If you love pop-punk, then you'll most likely dig this album.

These are the rejects?, December 18, 2006
As many bands do, Bracket took 4 of the songs that didn't make their sophomore album, 4-Wheel Vibe, and put them on a little EP for everyone to hear and enjoy. The first song, Circus Act, is on 4-Wheel Vibe, so that's nothing new...though it's a great song. Crash Diet is a funny, and very catchy song about falling off the diet wagon into a pile of fats and sugars. Stylin' is a great, energetic song about egotistical people in their expensive cars, who can actually afford to "go for a ride just so someone can see (them)." Warren's Song Part 5 is just like every other Warren's song, as how it's more down-tempo, a little bit more serious, and more heartfelt. Schmooze King is very fast, very energetic, and has a good, yet odd, melody...but it's very repetitive. "I think I know you...I think I know you..." over and over again. This EP has been out of production for over 10 years, so the number of copies is finite, making the price for a used copy kinda high--but it's still worth the money.

What can I say? It's Bracket!, October 14, 2006
This review is from: 4-Wheel Vibe (Audio CD)
Bracket has to be the most underrated band of all time, and this album definitely hasn't had the recognition it deserves. It's a shame that it was only in print for about a year...anyway, it really is a great album--not to mention that the cover art is KILLER!! There's some country-inspired alternative rock, hardcore punk rock, serious songs, funny songs, and just plain awesome songs. Like all other Bracket albums, it has plenty of energy and melody, but this one lacks one thing--good guitar solos. Marty Gregori really is one of the greatest punk rock guitarists of all time...and there are no noteworthy guitar solos on the entire album. However, the sheer awesomeness of the rest of the album keeps it at a 5. Feck'n awesome!!!!! Favorite tracks: Circus Act, Tractor, Green Apples, Trailer Park, Warren's Song Part 4, Lazy
