Great book for those who have or plan to travel the Rubicon.,

This review is from: 4 Wheeler's Guide to the Rubicon Trail (Spiral-bound)
The Rubicon is the grand-daddy of all 4x4 trails. This book does a great job of telling about this famous 4-wheel drive trail. Mr. Teie will tell you how to get ready and what to take. He goes into the history of the trail which might surprise some of you. It is a very old trail that has been in use since mankind has been in California. The book does an excellent job telling you all the ways into the trail and all the parts of the trail. It gives the miles from point to point along with great maps. It even has maps from days long gone. What you should take with you and (as a true 4-wheeler should) the book talks about trail etiquette and safety are some of the other topics in this book. This book also lets you know what the Forest Service rules and regulations are of area, which can be very useful. This is a special book of the Rubicon Trail. It has great pictures of the trail also. One thing about pictures of 4-wheeling is the fact they just don't do justice to the trail. Mr. Teie found a way around this. He has put some 3D pictures in along with the regular pictures. Don't worry, the book comes with 3D glasses also. I recommend this book, 4 Wheeler's Guide to the Rubicon Trail, to anyone and everyone who plans to go to the Rubicon or has been doing the trail for years. This is a great book for all.

This book sucks. Save your money, search the net and you'll find all the info you need. This book is more for kids than adults.

The intention to provide information about the Rubicon Trail deserves applause - the result however is disappointing: The book provides very little helpful information. Despite many maps and pictures the book does not help a novice to navigate the trail.
