Extremely clear and well engineered,

There are many recordings about things that are dumb and gay, but after hearing several of them, I'd have to say that this is likely to be the reference standard against which most (if not all) future recordings and performances about things that are dumb and gay will be compared. The recording is extremely clear and well engineered, but it is the performance by the members of A.C. that makes this a standout in any collection. 40 More Reasons To Hate Us celebrates the best of humanity's hopes and aspirations; it is one of those rare works which moves people across cultures, languages, and other barriers that exist between different groups of people. As a musical work, 40 More Reasons To Hate Us stands almost in a class by itself; broader and deeper in scope and concept than nearly any music ever written, it serves well as a soundtrack for a total solar eclipse or some monumental human achievement (perhaps the next lunar mission will be accompanied by this CD, to emphasize the magnitude of the accomplishment). Many rock fans mistakenly believe that punk music is too dainty or low key to be exciting. Well, they are in for the surprise of their lives if they check this CD out: it "out rocks" just about any contemporary popular act with its melodic, tonal, and dynamic range. If you ever fly on the Concorde (assuming that the planes ever fly again), this would be the CD to have playing in your headphones--especially if you're the pilot.

Only buy this if you fit into all of these categories:
1. You have a taste for grindcore/noisecore 2. You are not easily offended by sexism/homophobia etc 3. You have a slightly childish (aka brilliant) sense of humor I can see why so many people hate this album. The material on it is there to offend those sorts of people, and clearly it does it's job (although the material on their later 'it just gets worse' is far more X-rated.). If you want a more tolerable AC album that's still hillarious get Picnic of Love (although Amazon doesnt carry it.) Like i said, dont buy this if you are just curious. Make sure you know what to expect or you'll feel like you just wasted a packet.

Back in '96 when this came out, every freak in my corner of the world was lovin Pantera. So when this band led by the background screamer from the 'Southern Trendkill' album showed up, everbody i knew laughed their a sses off. One friend of mine kept repeating the same 5 second track over and over everytime i saw him. "Boom, boom, hiss, boom... Harvey Korman... is Gay!" Freaking hilarious! I definitely recommend this to anyone who thinks that kind of crap is funny. Tee hee hee.

Incredibly Stipud,

40 More Reasons to Hate Us sounds pretty much the same all the time. After you've heard one song, you have practically heard all the rest of the tracks. The titles are funny and none of their music should be taken seriously. What more can you say? Every track is loud, abrassive, and insanely fast. You can't really understand any of the words. It's the stangest grindcore I've ever heard, if this is even considered grindcore. It's okay though, because if you ever own any of A.C.'s albums, you'll become wicked underground.

The '90s were a wasteland in regards to metal in general. It seems as though two of the "Heavy 4" back in the '80s lost their edge. Anyone in the know is aware of that and I won't name-check. It was during this time that metal was alive and well after all. It was just remaining underground as it lurked in a bomb shelter as the ravages of grunge poisoned the surface. Temporarily. An act or two did see the light of day while, in the process, disowning their previous decade of work. Again, I won't name-check on that and will leave that as an exercise to the reader.
Much like the "Stormtroopers Of Death" in the '80s, AxCx pushed the boundaries further but with much less name recognition. "40 More Reasons To Hate Us" is what I consider their epic masterpiece polishing up their trademark blur and noisecore but tongue planted so far in cheek it bloodily penetrates in a way far more attention-getting than any relatively weak and bloodless trendy jewelry piercing or tribal tattoo on one's face. It's shocking for the sake of pure shock value. Taboos are obliterated. A feast for all is ensured as sacred cows are slaughtered. It makes the animal sacrifice in "Apocalypse Now" seem tame by comparison. But how does it sound? It is a superb production from beginning to end. For anyone who doubts the power of AxCx's metal chops need to witness the raw power and intensity of their cover of "Gloves Of Metal". The addition of guest vocalist Phil Anselmo on several tracks is a great shout-out to Pantera fans. Back then it was a crowning moment of awesome, though your mileage may vary now here in 2011. The humor is very well in evidence from the very black humor in the subject matter and the song titles. How can anyone not laugh very hard at tracks such as "Mike Mahan Has Gingivitis" and "02657"? Or, of all things, their cover of the theme from "Three's Company"? Or Seth Putnam's falsetto featured on "I Just Saw The Gayest Guy On Earth" which is a largely acapella track loaded with harmony with Anselmo's distinct low-growl of a voice stating the obvious? So, Seth and company have talent. Some would say that their talent is wasted. Such "critics" don't know what they're talking about. AxCx is a pure work of art which is meant to offend those who don't get the humor. Of how it's offensive for the sake of being offensive without anything else other than the act of audacity being the sole socially redeeming value at hand. The entertainment value is right there. Such a value seems to be lost in the mainstream merely for the value of inventory unit-shifting. Initial listens are sure to put most passive listeners off. For those who look deeper the listener who gets the joke will find themselves rewarded. It lays everything bare much like any other "serious" work does. Then it turns it all around into something far more intriguing. With a name like AxCx, what more did you expect? Everything, including expectations, gets subverted hard. While it may not have the subversive hidden storylines of Stanley Kubrick's visual work it is just as polarizing on first listen. Only much later is more revealed to those who learn about the work later and see how AxCx, as a whole, deconstructs the genre of metal while adding much-needed humor as it explores the misanthropy and misogyny of that genre as well. It would be like if Frank Zappa went darker yet didn't have his trademark rock, jazz and symphonic musical chops. It may be an unwise comparison to bring up Stanley Kubrick's and Frank Zappa's names in an AxCx review. But both have done much to explore taboos in their own way and explore the darkness that surrounds us: A darkness that exists in plain sight out in the sun. But, like other visionaries, AxCx carries that very long and honorable tradition. That evidence is very much at work here on "40 More Reasons To Hate Us". This is one of those buried gems that is well worth discovering.

An inspirational piece of music. The lyrics are priceless and if you're in to bands like Depeche Mode or N.W.A, you'll love it. I especially like the theme from Three's Company cover. Excellent. A must-have. A collector's item. The Dream-Team motivation record in 1992. Dishwashers. Buy this album, sell drugs, and buy another one. This is amazing.

This is the type of band I love too blast while I drive by Limp Bizket and Korn fans. It's what metal is all about. I never thought I would hear a better high pitched scream then PanterAs Phil Anselmo. Then these guys hit me like a ton of bricks. Not only does Seth sound like Phil screaming, he does it the whole time! Phil is even on the record. The songs to me sound like Andrew Dice Clay wrote the lyrics. This is metal at its best. Loud, fast and will send your mother screaming with disgust. The only downside is the songs are short. But who cares there all awesome!

1. All the songs are short so you can listen to the clips and not have to buy the album.
2. The Theme from 3's company is really good. it's shock music, why get worked up over it?

This album is offensive, noisy and harsh and I enjoy every minute of it. I've been listening to A.C. since I first heard about them back in 1992. "40 More Reasons...." finds A.C. adopting a more musical sound, which isn't anything like their older material (e.g. Everyone Should Be Killed & Morbid Florist). People will listen to this and be repulsed but that's ok because A.C. isn't for people that are easily offended. ...
