I have two cats that easily trigger normal motion detectors on my home alarm. The Pet Immunity Detector is a simple, low-cost solution. Installation can be done by anyone well-trained in how to use a screwdriver and read a instructions. If you're afraid of wires, call an electrician but you really don't need to as most systems run off 12VDC. You would have to work hard to mess up installing this.Construction is decent and it replaces existing sensors quite well. It includes your typical screws and anchors but you could probably use the ones off the unit you are replacing. I have not had a false alarm yet with my cats - each around 9 pounds.

in a 20 x 35 foot space, it detects human motion but doesn't complain about a 10 pound cat. Trivial to install, assuming that the wiring to your alarm panel is already in place.
