About the Author
Barbara Ann Kipfer is the author of more than 45 books, ranging from 14,000 Things to Be happy About to Roget’s International Thesaurus, 6th Edition. She holds numerous degrees, including a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in linguistics, a Ph.D. in archaeology, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Buddhist studies. She is a lexicographer and ethnographist and lives in New England.

If your kids argue a lot and don't think they have anything to be thankful for, this is the book for them. It makes them realize how much they really do have.

Writing is such a hard skill to develop because it is so easy to fail. With 1,400 things to be happy about for kids, the child cannot fail. They are writing about things that make them happy. There are no right or wrong answers. The child develops confidence in his/her writing skills and wants to write more. It also helps children develop a sense of creating a diary and that their lives are important. Every first and second grade teacher should include this book in their lesson plans.

Wonderful wonderful book. My 6 year old loves it and is so enjoying that this book allows her to express and record Her opinion.
I was disappointed that the seller listed it in good quality, It had pen writing in it and that annoys me terrible but I love the book so much I won't quibble.
