North American rack threads are commonly #12-24 or #10-32, with the former being more common from traditional telecom suppliers and the latter from A/V and some computer suppliers. Metric sizes are also popular in most of the world.

If you want a #12-24 thread cutting screw for rack applications, these are a good choice. Thread cutting screws are helpful in some new racks where the paint may have clogged the threads, or if the manufacturer hasn't done an A+ job of tapping. (A drop of oil or lube, or even a rub on a wax stick, can make them go in a lot easier.) But, in the hands of the inexperienced they can cross thread an existing hole, or in some cases, if you have a particularly soft, aluminum rack rail, with power tools, can even cut a 12-24 thread to a 10-32 hole. This probably isn't what you want to do.

So great product, but use with intelligence.

I chose these OEM screws over the cheaper brands because I am somewhat of a perfectionist and I like to keep my Network equipment on my Chatsworth Rack looking as good as possible. These Chatsworth screws are beefier for strength and hold the black color better than the generic brands. Call me crazy but what else can I say?
