DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!, June 7, 2009
This review is from: 40IN LCD 1080P HDTV W/DVD 1920X1080 W/ ATSC/NTSC (Electronics)
This unit cost me $1,000 and I only got 6 months out of it. The unit completely stopped working...no picture, no sound, acts like no power is getting to it. When I called Westinghouse to ask what to do since it was still under warranty, they said fax in a proof of purchase and call us back. It's been three weeks and I've faxed in my receipt twice and they still say they haven't received it. I'm told I can't ship the unit back (by the way, at my expense-$200 to do so) until they receive the proof of purchase. The last time I called the number was "temporarily out of service".
By the time I get any help, the warranty will probably be expired.
Do not buy a Westinghouse product...they are not quality products and their customer service is terrible!

Nice Picture and Very Convenient DVD Function, December 14, 2008
This review is from: 40IN LCD 1080P HDTV W/DVD 1920X1080 W/ ATSC/NTSC (Electronics)
This is a very nice model from Westinghouse. The picture is very nice and HD looks great. SD is also acceptably good and better than most lcds I have seen.
Pros:
1080P LCD - Great for Bluray
Adjustments are kept in memory for each input
Backlighting control
Progressive scan DVD player is convenient and looks great
Audio is pretty good
Stylish
USB Memory stick input
Cons:
Needs some tweaking out of the box - but this is acceptable
Black levels are good but not as good as a plasma - a problem for all lcd tvs.

8 Months in: Great TV/DVD combo (VK-40F580D), July 1, 2009
This review is from: 40IN LCD 1080P HDTV W/DVD 1920X1080 W/ ATSC/NTSC (Electronics)
Well, it's been 8 months since I got my VK-40F580D for the master bedroom. After a careful picture calibration when first setting up the TV, it has had an excellent picture and performs great.
I bought this unit new at the local Sams Club for about $700ish. This has been the best electronics purchase I have made in a long time.
I will keep my fingers crossed that it keeps up the great work!
