great tv and computer monitor,

I've had this unit for about 2.5 weeks now, had a good experience with purchase and shipping via Amazon/TigerDirect. The price was too good to be true for this LCD size, and I was actually a little worried it was a trick...
I don't have any experience with other widescreen tvs, and cannot make any comparisons on picture quality. But all the Tv and Dvds I watch on it look great, and it's a perfect computer monitor. I can read all the computer screen (google page) text from my sofa about 11 feet away. Even worked with Linux (Fedora Core 3) under their Generic VGA settings. Lots of inputs to the detachable tuner/head, and even a direct VGA input to the panel. The detached power supply has a small fan that does make some noise, but not as loud as my computer or refrigerator... Not as much heat seems to come off the front and top of the screen as my neighbors plasma tv. Only one weird thing, I was using one of the two progressive scan inputs with a DVD player , when I moved the vertical screen position with the remote, the picture started this slow up scroll that made the picture un-watchable. I had to switch to the other progressive scan input, and this time didn't touch the vertical position... :) Happy with it so far! |
