About JET: A History of Sharing New, Feature-Rich Products
Opened in 1958 after the founder of the company, Leslie P. Sussman, took the first Boeing Jet Airplane trip from Seattle, Washington to Japan, JET began as a small dealer that sold air hoists and trolleys out of a single hardware store in Seattle. Over the years, JET has carried everything from snowmobiles, transmitter radios, and forklifts to nylon stockings, but by the early 1970s, metalworking had become the base of their business line. And by the 1980s, JET had expanded into the realm of woodworking. Today, you'll find that JET offers a wide range of popular woodworking tools that are backed with best-in-class features and excellent service.

It cuts my stainless steel and aluminum good enough for me.

Lastly, it is great that the saw works at 115/230 volts and that it is movable.

I used this in my machine shop to cut thousands of parts for machining. It cuts my stainless steel and aluminum good enough for me. I would like the 1 inch blade bandsaw but the next step up is a huge difference in cost. I have recommended it to other new shops and they agree that this is a good buy!!! some adjustment form time to time and it will cut straight and consistantly. It's not that conveinient to switch to vertical but works well in both positions. Its best in horizontal. It can be a bit messy with the coolant but over all a good buy.

The saw is awesome.

The shipping, on the other hand, was terrible. The first one I was sent had been tipped over, despite a giant red arrow and DO NOT TIP sign on the crate, and the motor housing was crushed in. The second one showed up sideways on a pallet, despite a giant red arrow and DO NOT TIP sign on the crate, and gear oil had leaked out all over the place.

Having used an abrasive cut-off saw for several years, I had found its limits. I purchased the Jet bandsaw, and I am very happy with its performance. It is made in Taiwan, and is quite sturdy in its construction. It arrived in perfect shape. I was a little worried about moving it around in my shop because of limited space, but it rolls around on its 4 wheels very easily, and is not very difficult to spin around 90 degrees to cut longer stock. Assembly was very easy, and everything fit properly. The instructions seem to pretty well cover everything. I saw comments on reviews of other similar saws that complained of the coolant splashing all over. Depending on how high the coolant flow is set, you could put a lot of it on the floor, but I can easily live with a little mess to clean up. I have no regrets buying this saw, and would highly recommend it.

This is an impressive bandsaw. We haven't used the cutting coolant system yet, but the straightness of cut, the solidness of the construction, and the smoothness of operation are all very impressive to me especially after our previous, lighter weight horizontal saw.

I did not purchase this saw through Amazon- but I wanted to make sure no Amazon customers nor Amazon had to go through what I had to- it was an awful experience!
This Jet horizontal bandsaw was recommended to me by several large metal shops that have had their larger Jet saws for years. I ordered the saw, received it, and could not figure out why none of my cuts were square. Then I discovered that the table of the saw was not level, and could not be adjusted. Jet picked up the “defective” saw and sent me a second saw. Same thing with the second saw. Jet then sent me a third saw that "met their specifications" - and that saw table was not level!!! All three of the saw tables were not level, being off by at least a 1/8” -1/4” difference in height from side to side. The Quality Control Manager for Jet told me that there is no specification that the table of the saw be level. That of course makes no sense at all! Then the QC manager and field technical representative told me to simply adjust my metal support! Bad recommendation- a 20 ft. length of metal would have had a 7 ½” drop and the material would have rolled off the support; plus it was difficult at best to vise metal tightly and flat to the saw table since the weight of the metal was pulled down towards the floor due to the significant incline. It took 5 months, hours and hours of phone calls, emails, faxes, letters and tons of time to finally get Jet to pick up the third saw and then even more time for them to process the credit! Be aware, Jet also makes Wilton and PowerMatic now, and ALL of these sized bandsaws by these brands are imported, and none of them have a specification for the table of the saw to be level- crazy!

A nice saw so far with a few exceptions. The coolant drips off the blade and goes through the cover onto the floor and leaves a puddle. The coolant also doesn't drain well back to the tank since the tray is flat so the coolant sits in the tray a bit.
The saw could use what I would call a return to zero material reference stop. When stock is sitting against the material stop it can get jammed up when the cut finishes by jack knifing the material between the stop and the blade. Can't be good for the blade. There should be an additional stop on the bar so that the material stop can reference against it and be easily moved out of the way once the material is tightened in the vise.
Lastly, the bumper that stops the saw and shuts off the motor is too short so the saw doesn't shut off at the end of its cut automatically. I had to use the transport strap as a stop until I can come up with a better stop. For the money the saw works well and it is a solid machine but for the little pita stuff that should have been addressed I give it 4 stars.

This is one of the smallest industrial saws that I could find. The saw has been great and has held up well cutting large amount of aluminum and steel. The added coolant pump is great and helps prolong the life of the saw. However, the coolant catch area wasn't design properly and coolant will splash all over the floor which can be a pain if not handled accordingly. Also, the blade provided will not last. I buy blades from a local mom and pop shop that last months when cutting large amounts of steel so if you feel the saw isn't working, take a look at which blade you are using. Lastly, it is great that the saw works at 115/230 volts and that it is movable. I would recommend for any CNC machine shop on a budget.
