In 42 Rules of Marketing, Laura Lowell makes marketing tips fun and easy to read. Because the book deals with marketing in such a practical, humorous and approachable way you feel like you could successfully launch a business using her 42 Rules of Marketing, with little or no previous experience. I loved the book.

The 42 Rules of Marketing is a fantastic concept. The style which it is written and the content it covers allows the reader quick and easy tips that help simplify marketing and the marketing process. Laura Lowell, the author, is able to breakdown a vast amount of knowledge and experience, presenting all of it in a way that makes it easy to understand and implement. Highly recommended.

Great book for anyone who deals with the public to refresh skills and mindset. Most of us 'sell' on a daily basis and not just at work! Read this and remember the basics and have a chuckle too.

I have read this book at least three times -- partly because it is so useful, and partly because whenever I pick it up to just look up one thing, I end up reading significant chunks of the book because it is so engaging. I pick up this book when I want to reframe my point of view on a marketing issue for my own small business or for one of my clients. It always provides perspective that helps me focus on the appropriate issues and re-energize to get working on my marketing projects.

This book is a very easy read. Laura Lowell provides sound insight from an online business/internet marketing standpoint. I also found the book to be quite humorous and engaging. The reader will be able to extract some very useful golden nuggets on marketing effectiveness, viral marketing, and real world wisdom.

I particularly enjoyed the author's insight into "Planning a Little So You Can Do a Lot More". I certainly agree with her classification of marketing people as "Planners" and "Doers". I recommend this book.

I recommend as a foundation it for marketers (new and seasoned) looking to step up and be effective at what they do. Laura truly has an insider's perspective and shares what took her years to learn, with her readers.

Laura takes the common day to day challenges of Marketing, and provides real examples of how to make things work. I am able to apply what I have learned in my day to day work life. She makes it funny and real !

In life, there are often rules that everyone knows. Laura has taken all those rules, and shown how they work in Marketing, but they could work for any field of work, or even life. She states the rule, then gives background on how to deal with each rule. A great quick, well-written read.
