Insight into Holocaust from Genuine Hero, August 22, 2010
This review is from: 44070: The Conspiracy of the Twentieth Century (Paperback)
The best book I've read for truly understanding the Holocaust in all its horrible manifestations. Every page is an incredible, shocking revelation about the realities of the Auschwitz and Birkinau death factories and how the Nazis, facilitated by endemic global apathy, managed to keep the greatest crime in history secret. Although gut-wrenching, the scale of evil is at least complemented by the many noble and heroic characters in this book, none more so than the author, who overcame overwhelming adversity and odds to live to tell this incredible story to a shamefully slow-to-react world, eventually saving lives and hastening the Nazi defeat.
Should be required reading in every modern history class. A lesson not just of history but of ourselves.
