The Fall have been astonishingly prolific in their twenty or so years of existence-in fact, most of their work is well worth owning if you enjoy the first sample you experience. Especially engaging are the mid-80's albums I Am Kurious Oranj, Bend Sinister, This Nation's Saving Grace, and The Frenz Experiment. Of course, all of these albums are represented on the A-Sides compliation, 458489. If you have never heard of The Fall before, then just a listen to classics such as "C.R.E.E.P.", "Cruiser's Creek" and "Big New Prinz" will convince you that The Fall could be the most underrated group in this quarter of a century. Oh well, they probably will never be appreciated by the general public, which is very sad. The Fall are one of the few groups that make me want to dance until morning and yet somehow beat the crap out of everything in sight...they will never be duplicated.

I had never heard of this group until I heard them on Pandora. I thought, "wow, who are these guys?" I did a little research and reasoned the best album to initiate myself what is commonly considered their "greatest hits". It's not awful. It's more background "mood" music, that you'll be listening to alone as it'd be a rare woman who'd not whine; urging you to put in a different CD. Definitely not something you're going to sing along to.
