Burns bright; slow to warm up,

This review is from: GE 47479 26 Watt (90 Watt equivalent) Energy Smart Floodlight 6 Year Life R40 Light Bulb (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've purchased these lights from a local retail outlet and replaced my regular outdoor incadescent floodlights with them. They do burn very brightly-just as brightly as the incadescent bulbs-but take a very long time to warm up, especially in the winter (NJ). I would never let this discourage purchasing and using these bulbs, but if you think indoor bulbs take a while, prepare yourself!

Better than most CFL floods,

Like others have said, these do take a little while to warm up. However, even immediately after being turned on, they provide a lot more light than the TCP 14019 - 1R4019-27K 19W R40 2700K Flood Screw Base Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb that these replaced - and warm up a lot quicker. They've also outlasted all of the TCP bulbs. They're also painfully bright once they warm up fully - they're supposed to be 90 watt equivalent, but they seem to be a bit brighter than the 90 watt incandescents in the next room, and they're far brighter than the cheap bulbs we had in this room before.
There's no "great" CFL flood on the market right now - they all take their time warming up, I'm assuming due to the fact that these are designed to handle the heat of being in recessed lights. I did find them on sale locally for a bit cheaper than anyone online is selling them for, so that helped.
