I bought these for party favors. They take about 24 hours of soaking in cold water to grow to about the size of a woman's palm. They then shrink over a few days, the one I tried is still shrinking and it's been 4 days. I always loved this junk as a kid so I decided it'd be a good favor for my son's birthday party. Fun and cheap.

I bought these to use as a science lab for graphing. The sponge insects did not grow much during class period but the students were amazed how big they grew overnight! Worked perfectly for our lab experiment

I had these as a party favor my son's birthday party and tested a few out to make sure they worked and they did. First I put them in a glass and after a few hours saw that it had grown to the width of the glass so I put it in a bowl to see if it would expand more and it did. It got about 4 inches wide and my son enjoyed watching it get bigger over a 2 day period. I'll take this in a party favor bag any day over candy!

I purchased this for my grandson and it is dollar store quality. The "bugs" came in a little plastic baggie and they do not expand in water much at all. Feel ripped off for $7! Read more

Worked Great!
Worked great! We put it in regular coldish tap water. It got to full size over 24-30 hours. Stayed large in water for over a week. Took them out and they slowly shrunk. Read more
