I would really like to play a Call of Duty game on my PS Vita, but no gameplay for a $50 Vita game makes me upset about this. This game gets an exception from me because I didn't like Black Ops and I have no plans on buying Black Ops II.
The fact that the game has "barely been announced" is kind of disheartening since it'll probably be releasing in about 4-5 months. Last year (E3 2011) it was said we were getting Call of Duty on the Vita which led most pundits to believe that the game was in development. One year later (E3 2012) the game wasn't even ready to be shown? Not even a trailer? AND we're expecting it in the next 6 months? Not to mention that product description...
"Optimized for gamers on-the-go, Call of Duty® Black Ops: Declassified delivers the most intense handheld Call of Duty® experience to date, including both Special Ops Story mode and Multiplayer combat tailored for the PS Vita."
Really? A Spec-Ops Story mode? We can't even flesh out an actual campaign on this thing? It's not like the Call of Duty franchise is known for it's lengthy cinematic cutscenes...it'd be very easy to play any console COD game on a handheld since there's about 200 checkpoints in the 6.5 hour campaign that you can save at...yeesh.
I disagree. Call of Duty's campaign is like watching an action movie (and a good one at that). You're getting a ton of loud, violent, intense action, and a decent story to tie it all together. Granted, it's not going to be an epic, story-driven experience like the Halo series or Mass Effect, but that's not the point. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the CoD campaigns, and am looking forward to this and Black Ops 2.
Well, if you think the game sounds like a piece of crap, then feel free not to buy it. My level of interest in any game isn't limited to having seen 20,000 gameplay videos first. It's COD, it's on the Vita, and it'll control like the console version. For now, that's plenty for me to say that I plan to buy it. As more details are released, if I hear something I don't like, I'll reassess that decision.
According to Gamestop Online the release date is 12/31/12. http://www.gamestop.com/ps-vita/games/call-of-duty-black-ops-declassified/102773
According to Gamestop the local store the release date is 1/01/13 the same date as Playstation All-Stars. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=461079377235865&set=p.461079377235865&type=1&theater¬if_t=photo_reply
Do you all not realize demand and production costs are the two central reasons why Uncharted: Golden Abyss was 50 bucks and that demand and possibly production costs is the same reason for this game. How about judge the game of value based on what you see? You all are dismissing this game without seeing anything of it. Wait until they show it then make your opinion but that opinion still won't hold water until we all can get hands on it anyways.
There's no quantifiable "demand" for the standard version of a game that hasn't been released yet. Production costs? No. Profit? Yes. This game will sale and I'll buy one because I feel it will be good game.
